Responsibilities
- Sourcing raw materials, components, and production supplies to meet manufacturing schedules
- Conducting regular supplier performance reviews and audits to ensure compliance with standards
- Analyzing total cost of ownership including acquisition, operational, and disposal costs
- Implementing cost reduction initiatives through strategic negotiations and process improvements
- Managing supplier relationships with focus on quality certifications and production capacity
- Coordinating with production planning teams to ensure material availability and avoid production delays
- Implementing just-in-time (JIT) procurement strategies to optimize inventory and reduce carrying costs
- Managing capital equipment purchases and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing principles
- Conducting supplier audits and capability assessments for critical production materials
- Managing long-term supply agreements and framework contracts for strategic materials
- Maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers and developing new vendor partnerships
