Full Time | Bugis | Training Provided | Starting Salary: $2,700 Monthly

First Konnection is recruiting a Primary English Teacher / Tutor for an enrichment centre in Bugis. You will teach English to children from Kindergarten 2 (K2) to Primary 6 (P6), with up to 10 students per class.

Fresh graduates, career switchers and applicants studying part time are welcome. Previous teaching experience is not required. Training in the centre’s teaching approach and systems will be provided.

Applicants studying part time must be able to commit to the full working schedule below, including both Saturdays and Sundays and the additional Tuesdays when required.

Your Role

Conduct English lessons covering grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension and writing.

Adjust your explanations and activities to suit different learning levels, from K2 to P6.

Keep students engaged and manage classroom behaviour.

Prepare lessons and worksheets using the centre’s curriculum and digital tools.

Review students’ work, identify areas for improvement and give clear feedback.

Attend training and apply the centre’s teaching methods.

Assist with Maths lessons or relief coverage where appropriate to your subject knowledge and ability.

Who Can Apply

Applicants with GCE O-Level English Language grade B3 or better. Supporting results will be required, as this role involves teaching English.

Strong spoken and written English, with the ability to explain concepts clearly.

Willingness to teach K2 children as well as primary students up to P6.

Patience when helping children learn and confidence managing a class.

Willingness to learn the centre’s approach and act on feedback.

Ability to use basic computer applications and learn tools such as Word, Excel, Google applications, Zoom and AI-assisted worksheet preparation.

Availability to work all scheduled days and hours, including both weekends.

Teaching, tutoring or other experience working with children is welcome, but it is not essential.

Maths Capability

A grade of B3 or better in O-Level Elementary Mathematics or Additional Mathematics is an advantage.

English is the priority. Applicants who meet the English requirement may still be considered without Maths B3. Any Maths teaching or relief duties will depend on their subject competency.

Salary And Training

Starting salary during the 3-month probation:
$2,700 per month

.

Salary upon successful confirmation:
$3,000 per month

.

The increase to $3,000 takes effect only after successful confirmation. It is not the starting salary.

Training in the centre’s teaching methods and systems will be provided.

Working Days And Hours

The usual working week consists of these 4 days:
Monday: 9.30am–6.30pm

Friday: 9.45am–7.15pm

Saturday: 8am–7pm

Sunday: 8am–7pm

Each working day includes a 1 hour lunch break.

Both Saturday and Sunday are required working days. Your usual days off are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Up To 6 Additional Tuesdays Each Year

Under the usual schedule above, you may need to work on up to 6 additional Tuesdays per year for training or operational needs.

In those weeks, your working days will be Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Wednesday and Thursday remain your days off.

These Tuesdays are activated when needed, rather than at a fixed interval. Advance notice will be provided through the roster, which is generally planned 2–3 months ahead.

Possible Alternative Weekday Arrangement

Depending on operational needs, Tuesday may replace Monday as your regular weekday. Your usual working days would then be Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

If this arrangement applies, the regular roster and arrangements for additional working days will be explained and confirmed before you join.

How To Apply

Submit your CV, earliest available start date, and O-Level English and Maths grades.

You may include any relevant tutoring, enrichment, classroom or other experience working with children. Applicants without teaching experience are also welcome.

If you are studying part time, please include your usual class days and times, and expected course completion date, so we can check compatibility with the working schedule.
