Background: Our client is a spin-off from a prominent US-based hedge fund to establish an independent global investment manager. Today, their footprint spans major international financial centers—Hong Kong, Singapore, London, New York, Jersey, the Cayman Islands, and Dubai — delivering sophisticated investment strategies across worldwide markets.
Primary Duties
- Frontline Support: Serve as the initial point of contact for all internal staff, swiftly resolving hardware, software, and network inquiries.
- Ticket Management: Monitor helpdesk queues, prioritizing tasks and escalating complex incidents to maintain high service standards.
- Technical Remediation: Troubleshoot desktop environments, peripheral hardware, network connections, remote tools, and telephony systems.
- Domain Mastery: Apply specialized domain knowledge of financial application suites and proprietary trading/investment systems.
- Vendor & Team Synergy: Liaise with internal engineering teams and external vendor partners to diagnose high-level technical issues.
- MSP Oversight: Establish and maintain an efficient collaborative workflow with the firm's primary Managed Service Provider.
- Lifecycle Administration: Execute IT onboarding/offboarding workflows, including user account creation, system provisioning, and hardware retrieval.
- Knowledge Capture: Help build, refine, and maintain IT documentation, operational policies, and user self-service guides.
- Process Elevation: Proactively identify opportunities to improve service delivery speed and helpdesk operational efficiency.
- Global Readiness: Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours shifts to sustain continuous 24/7 global business coverage.
Requirements Profile
- 7+ years of progressive IT service desk experience.
- 5+ years of specialized exposure in financial services (Hedge Fund, Asset Management, or Investment Bank).
- Demonstrated career stability, with a track record of at least 4+ years per role within previous organizations
- In-depth command of Windows environments, MS Office/365, and standard financial desktop software.
- Practical network troubleshooting skills (TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP) and familiarity with remote desktop solutions (Citrix, SSL VPN).
- Hands-on familiarity with PowerShell at the command-line interface.
- Exceptional analytical skills combined with clear, user-friendly communication abilities.
- Service-driven orientation with a focus on delivering high-end internal user experience.
