Job Description

Responsibilities

WE’RE HIRING: FASHION STYLIST

Location: House of Ariani, Kuala Lumpur

Company: Ariani

We are looking for a Fashion Stylist who is creative, trend-aware, highly hands-on and comfortable working in a fast-paced fashion environment.

This role goes beyond simply putting together beautiful outfits. You will be involved in everything from developing styling concepts and creating complete looks to managing samples, preparing garments for shoots and coordinating closely with other departments.

What You’ll Be Doing

Styling & Creative Direction

  • Create and propose complete styling looks based on the concept, campaign direction, theme or collection.
  • Style clothing, hijabs and accessories in a way that feels current, relevant and visually strong.
  • Stay updated with the latest fashion, styling, hijab and visual trends.
  • Understand how to adapt styling according to different products, collections and target customers.
  • Confidently mix and match outfits, hijabs, accessories, footwear and other styling elements.
  • Provide ideas, references and styling recommendations during campaign and shoot planning.
  • Have a good eye for colour combinations, proportions, silhouettes and overall visual balance.
  • Assess models and talents based on factors such as height, body proportions, skin tone, personal style and overall appearance, and recommend looks that suit them best.
  • Work closely with photographers, creative teams, marketing and production teams to achieve the intended visual direction.
  • Be comfortable giving constructive opinions and suggesting alternatives when a styling choice can be improved.

Shoot Preparation & Sample Management

  • Prepare, organise and coordinate all clothing, hijab and accessory samples required for shoots.
  • Ensure samples are complete, properly labelled, organised and ready before every shoot.
  • Steam and iron clothing and hijabs when required.
  • Pack, unpack and organise garments, accessories, parcels, boxes and shoot items.
  • Manage the movement and tracking of shooting samples.
  • Maintain proper sample stock management and ensure items are returned, stored and accounted for after shoots.
  • Liaise closely with Production, Operations, Marketing and other relevant departments regarding samples, product availability and shoot requirements.
  • Assist with fittings, styling preparation and last-minute adjustments during shoots.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong interest and knowledge in fashion, styling and current trends.
  • Creative with a strong visual eye and good fashion sense.
  • Able to translate a campaign concept or theme into a complete styling direction.
  • Good understanding of body proportions, colours, silhouettes and accessorising.
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
  • Responsible, organised and able to manage multiple samples and styling requirements at the same time.
  • Resourceful and comfortable solving problems on the spot.
  • Willing to learn, take feedback and continuously improve.
  • Not afraid to ask questions, research or learn something new when necessary.
  • A team player who is willing to help wherever needed instead of limiting themselves strictly to their job scope.
  • Comfortable with both creative work and hands-on operational work.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines.
  • Willing to work long hours, overtime and weekends when required, particularly during campaigns, shoots, launches and peak seasons.
  • Confident in expressing ideas and giving styling opinions while remaining open to feedback.

Added Advantage

Candidates who are skilled in hijab styling, draping and creating different hijab looks will have an added advantage.

The Kind of Person Who Will Do Well Here

We are looking for someone who understands that being a stylist is not only about creating beautiful looks. You should be equally comfortable developing a styling idea, dressing a talent, steaming a garment, organising samples, opening boxes, managing shoot items and coordinating with different teams to get the job done. We value people who are creative, dependable, proactive, curious and willing to learn; someone who takes pride in both the glamorous and behind-the-scenes parts of the job.
