Job Description

Responsibilities

IT Business Analyst - 12 months contract

We are looking for an experienced IT Business Analyst to work closely with business and technology teams to deliver system enhancements and technology solutions within a financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyse and document business and functional requirements.

  • Translate business requirements into Epics, Features, User Stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Act as the key liaison between business stakeholders, Product Owners, developers, engineers and architects.

  • Analyse existing workflows and recommend process and system improvements.

  • Facilitate requirement gathering, solutioning and design discussions with business and technology teams.

  • Support Agile/Scrum delivery, including backlog prioritisation, sprint planning and user story refinement.

  • Work with development teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure requirements are correctly implemented.

  • Define test scenarios and support system testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

  • Coordinate UAT sign-off and readiness for production deployment.

  • Identify and escalate project risks, issues and dependencies.

  • Prepare process flows, system documentation and other project artefacts.

  • Use data and analysis to support business decisions and recommendations.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of Business Analyst experience, preferably within insurance, banking or financial services.

  • Strong experience in business requirements gathering, functional analysis and process/workflow design.

  • Experience writing Epics, Features, User Stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Good understanding of Agile/Scrum and software development methodologies.

  • Experience supporting UAT, testing and technology implementations.

  • Comfortable working with both business and technical stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with enterprise applications, system integrations and system/data flows.

  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience within the insurance industry would be highly advantageous.
