Job Summary

Support Nutrition and Food Science practical lessons by preparing ingredients, managing kitchen operations, and assisting with administrative tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, and distribute food ingredients accurately for Nutrition and Food Science practical lessons to support teaching activities
• Assist with ordering ingredients, receiving deliveries, verifying quantities, and ensuring proper food storage to maintain supply quality
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene by regularly cleaning utensils, appliances, and work areas to comply with safety standards
• Keep accurate inventory records to track kitchen supplies and support efficient resource management
• Support teachers with basic administrative duties to facilitate smooth lesson operations
• Carry out regular kitchen cleaning to uphold a safe and sanitary environment

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum 1 year of working experience in school kitchens or commercial kitchens to ensure familiarity with kitchen operations
• Knowledge of food handling, kitchen hygiene, and safety practices essential for maintaining a safe food preparation environment

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Food Safety Course Level 1 certification preferred to enhance food safety compliance
• PSLE pass preferred to support effective communication with students, suppliers, and contractors
• Good teamwork, organisational, time management, and communication skills preferred to contribute positively to the kitchen team and lesson coordination
