About the Role:
We're looking for a passionate and skilled full-time Barista to join our team. In this role, you will prepare and serve high-quality beverages, educate customers about our menu, recommend drinks based on individual preferences, and introduce featured or seasonal offerings. You'll also take and manage orders efficiently, ensuring a smooth and pleasant service flow. Most importantly, you will help create a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience for every guest who walks through our doors.
To succeed in this role, you should have excellent customer service skills, a good understanding of brewing equipment, and the ability to work flexible shifts. If you're passionate about coffee, enjoy connecting with people, and take pride in creating a positive, inclusive café environment, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all food and beverage offerings at the café.
Prepare beverages and food items in accordance with company standards, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
Build strong customer relationships to enhance the overall café experience.
Recommend menu items or merchandise based on customer preferences, including featured or seasonal offerings.
Maintain the cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene of the café, including workstations and equipment, in line with food safety standards.
Perform regular maintenance and care of coffee machines and brewing equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
Manage café inventory, including stock checks, replenishment, and handling deliveries.
Accurately operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and process customer transactions efficiently.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth café operations and share ideas to improve customer experience.
Support café operations across roles and assist with other duties as needed by management.
Uphold consistency and quality in every cup of coffee served.
Possess foundational knowledge of coffee origins, grind sizes, brewing methods, and latte art pouring.
Requirements & Skills
Prior experience as a Barista for at least 2 years
Genuine passion for coffee culture and the art of coffee-making.
Enjoys engaging with people and has a strong desire to work in the service and hospitality industry.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Willingness and flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and Public Holidays.
Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift/carry supplies (e.g. stock, equipment) as needed.
