About the role

World Wide Technology (WWT) is seeking an experienced Tanium Consultant to design, deploy, configure and optimize the Tanium platform across a complex enterprise environment, with a focus on endpoint and database patching.

This is a delivery-focused role. You will own patch strategy end to end, from planning and scheduling through remediation, compliance reporting and exception handling. You will partner with security, infrastructure and database teams, and bring deep, hands-on Tanium expertise and a record of measurable results at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, administer and maintain Tanium Core and the modules in scope.
• Lead enterprise patching operations with Tanium Patch: strategy, scheduling, ring and wave deployment, remediation, compliance reporting and exception handling.
• Design and implement database patching workflows in Tanium that minimize disruption and follow maintenance windows and change control.
• Build and manage sensors, packages, saved questions, dashboards and automated actions for operational and compliance needs.
• Configure and maintain Tanium Connect integrations with SIEM, CMDB, ITSM and data lake platforms.
• Develop reporting and trending dashboards with Reporting and Trends to show endpoint health, patch compliance and configuration posture.
• Support asset inventory, discovery, software deployment and compliance operations across the module suite.
• Troubleshoot Tanium client, server and module performance, and tune the environment for scale and reliability.
• Partner with security, infrastructure, database and operations teams to align Tanium with business and compliance requirements.
• Document architecture, standard operating procedures and runbooks, and mentor internal teams.

Modules in scope

Strong working knowledge of Tanium Core is required, together with: Asset, Automate, Connect, Discover, Engage, Interact, Reporting, Trends, Deploy, Patch, Performance, Comply. Deep, demonstrable expertise in Tanium Patch is essential.

Required qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Tanium.
• Strong working knowledge of Tanium Core and the modules in scope.
• Deep, demonstrable expertise in Tanium Patch, including large-scale patch deployment and remediation.
• Proven experience patching databases using Tanium.
• Solid understanding of endpoint management, patch management lifecycles and compliance frameworks.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows and Linux endpoints.
• Ability to write and interpret Tanium sensors, packages and queries.
• Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

• Tanium certifications, such as Certified Operator, Certified Administrator or module-specific certifications.
• Experience integrating Tanium with ITSM (ServiceNow), CMDB and SIEM platforms.
• Scripting experience in PowerShell, Python or Bash for automation.
• Familiarity with change management and ITIL processes.
• Experience in regulated environments.
