Job Description

Responsibilities

Company Description Xionex partners with banks, insurers, and enterprises to modernize operations and unlock new efficiency opportunities through governed AI and specialized vertical AI agents. The company focuses on reducing costs, accelerating back‑office processes, and improving quality by combining domain expertise with advanced technology. Xionex leverages a high‑performance global service‑delivery model to support clients at scale while maintaining strong governance and reliability. Team members work on impactful solutions that transform how organizations operate in data-intensive, regulated environments.

Role Description The Software and Solution Architect is a full-time, hybrid role based in Greater Kuala Lumpur, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role involves designing end-to-end software and solution architectures that align with client and internal business requirements, particularly for AI-enabled and data-driven systems. The architect translates functional and non-functional requirements into scalable designs, selects appropriate technologies, and defines integration patterns between applications, services, and data platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders, reviewing and guiding software development activities, creating architecture documentation and diagrams, and ensuring solutions meet performance, security, compliance, and reliability standards. The role also includes conducting technical assessments, mentoring engineering teams, and contributing to continuous improvement of architecture practices and governance frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Strong Software Architecture and Solution Architecture skills, including designing distributed, scalable, and secure systems.
  • Hands-on Software Development experience in modern languages and frameworks, with the ability to produce reference implementations and code prototypes.
  • Expertise in Integration, including APIs, messaging, microservices communication, and interoperability between legacy and modern platforms.
  • Solid understanding of Databases, including relational and NoSQL systems, data modeling, performance optimization, and reliability.
  • Experience designing solutions in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and with containerization/orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of security, compliance, and governance best practices, especially in highly regulated industries such as financial services and insurance.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and to lead architecture discussions and design reviews.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Prior experience in enterprise environments or consulting, particularly in banking, insurance, or AI-driven solutions, is an advantage.
