Job Description

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

You own the technical logic of a solution from first enquiry to contract:

  • Study the customer’s requirements: parcel volumes, size and weight mix, destination count, peak-hour profiles, building constraints and growth plans.
  • Build throughput models and capacity calculations — how many sorters, how many robots, how many infeed lines, and what happens at peak.
  • Produce site layouts and equipment configurations in [AutoCAD / our planning tools], including conveyor routing, sortation loops, docking and buffer areas.
  • Select and configure equipment: cross-belt sorters, mobile sorting robots, AMR fleets, scanners, diversion logic and control architecture.
  • Write the technical sections of proposals and tender responses — solution description, equipment list, performance guarantees, assumptions and exclusions.
  • Join pre-sales meetings and present the solution to customer engineers and operations managers; answer technical questions on the spot.
  • Run or support simulation and scenario studies when a customer wants to compare options.
  • Hand the won project over to delivery and project teams, and stay available as the person who knows why the design is what it is.

What We Are Looking For

  • A degree in industrial & systems engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automation, or a related field. Fresh graduates are welcome.
  • Comfortable with numbers and spreadsheets: you can build a throughput model that others can check and trust.
  • Able to read and produce layout drawings; CAD experience ([AutoCAD / SolidWorks / similar]) is a strong advantage.
  • Structured thinking — you break a messy requirement into parts, state your assumptions, and notice when an assumption breaks.
  • Clear communicator: the same idea has to make sense to an engineer, a salesperson and a warehouse operations manager.
  • Willing to visit customer sites, walk a warehouse floor and measure reality against the drawing.
  • Nice to have: exposure to simulation tools, operations research, logistics or supply-chain coursework, or any automation / robotics project work.
