Production Supervisor

Department: Production
Reports To: Operations Manager
Location: Port Klang, Selangor

Role Summary

The Production Supervisor oversees day-to-day plant operations and shift activities. The role is responsible for ensuring production targets are achieved safely while maintaining quality, productivity, housekeeping, and environmental standards. The supervisor directly manages shift leaders and operators.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations Management

• Supervise daily production activities across manufacturing lines.
• Coordinate shift operations to achieve production schedules.
• Ensure production tasks are completed efficiently.
• Handle production startups and monitor production runs.

People Leadership

• Lead, coach and develop Shift Leaders and Operators.
• Monitor employee performance and provide corrective actions when required.
• Conduct on-the-job training for shift personnel and contractors.
• Foster teamwork and accountability within the production team.

Health, Safety & Environment

• Promote a strong safety culture.
• Conduct weekly safety audits.
• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies.
• Report safety incidents and operational risks promptly.

Quality Management

• Monitor product quality and investigate out-of-specification products.
• Manage product sampling and testing activities.
• Adjust formulations when required for:
• Melt Flow Index (MFI)
• Filler Content
• Product Color
• Ensure specification compliance before release.

Process & Technical Support

• Develop understanding of:
• Batching
• Blending
• Extrusion
• Packaging
• Raw Material Handling
• Additive & Pigment Mixing
• Product Testing
• Support Statistical Process Control (SPC) activities.
• Introduce and implement new operating procedures.

Operational Control

• Maintain stock levels of operating consumables and production tools.
• Handle production waste management according to procedures.
• Stand in for Shift Leaders when required.
• Participate in daily production meetings.

RequirementsEducation

• Bachelor's Degree or High Vocational qualification.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years in manufacturing operations.
• Compounding industry experience preferred.
• Experience supervising production teams.
