Wee Rays Child Development Center is looking for an experienced, passionate and dedicated Senior Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in Kuala Lumpur.

At Wee Rays, we work with young children with a range of developmental needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental and language delays, attention and self-regulation difficulties, social-emotional challenges, and other developmental concerns.

Our approach goes beyond teaching isolated skills. We focus on supporting the whole child through individualized, developmentally appropriate and positive intervention, with particular attention to communication, cognition, executive functioning, emotional regulation, social development, independence and school readiness.

About the Role

As a Senior Therapist, you will take an active role in both direct intervention and clinical leadership within the centre.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting individual and small-group intervention sessions with children
• Developing and implementing individualized intervention goals and treatment plans
• Monitoring children’s developmental progress and adjusting intervention strategies accordingly
• Conducting observations and contributing to developmental assessments and progress reports
• Supporting children in areas such as communication, cognitive development, executive functioning, emotional and behavioural regulation, social skills and adaptive functioning
• Guiding and mentoring junior therapists/interventionists
• Providing case supervision and supporting the team in maintaining high-quality intervention practices
• Collaborating with occupational therapists, psychologists, educators and other professionals within the multidisciplinary team
• Communicating professionally with parents and providing appropriate guidance regarding their child’s progress
• Participating in case discussions, team meetings, professional training and program development
• Supporting the continuous development and improvement of Wee Rays’ intervention programs

Who We Are Looking For

We would love to hear from candidates with a background in:

Psychology, Child Development, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Occupational Therapy, Speech/Language-related fields, Behavioural Sciences, or another relevant discipline.

For this senior position, we are particularly interested in candidates who have:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field
• Strong practical experience working with children with developmental or additional needs
• Experience with ASD and early intervention
• A good understanding of child development and evidence-informed intervention practices
• The ability to independently plan, implement and evaluate intervention programs
• Experience supervising, mentoring or guiding other therapists is highly desirable
• Strong observation, documentation and report-writing skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A warm, patient and positive approach toward children
• Strong professional ethics, responsibility and teamwork skills
• A genuine interest in continuous professional development
