We are looking for an experienced Sourcing Manager to lead strategic sourcing and material-related projects, including New Product Introduction and New Product Development programs.
This is currently an individual contributor position that requires a highly hands-on sourcing professional. You will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, identifying and qualifying suppliers, managing commercial negotiations, driving cost and quality improvements, and supporting the development of new sourcing policies and processes.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Source materials, components, subcontracted services, equipment, processes, technical solutions, and design-related services required by R&D, Research and Innovation, and Operations.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business requirements and category management objectives.
- Manage the company’s supply portfolio and negotiate with suppliers to achieve long-term benefits in quality, cost, delivery, service, and supply continuity.
- Lead materials sourcing and supplier readiness for New Product Introduction and New Product Development programs.
- Work closely with R&D, Engineering, Product Development, and Operations on material selection, technical specifications, supplier qualification, and project requirements.
- Identify, assess, develop, and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers.
- Manage RFIs, RFQs, tender exercises, commercial evaluations, contract negotiations, and supplier appointments.
- Develop and implement procurement policies, sourcing processes, supplier evaluation criteria, and performance management systems.
- Monitor supplier performance and drive improvements in cost, quality, delivery, service, capacity, and risk management.
- Identify alternative sources and mitigation plans to reduce single-source dependency and supply disruption risks.
- Drive continuous improvement, cost reduction, value engineering, and best-value sourcing initiatives.
- Support demand planning, supplier capacity planning, and supply risk management.
- Prepare procurement reports, sourcing recommendations, project updates, and presentations for management and relevant committees.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with corporate governance, regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and company policies.
- Promote procurement best practices and provide sourcing guidance to internal stakeholders where required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- At least seven years of relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, global sourcing, or category management.
- Experience in a manufacturing, electrical, mechanical, or electro-mechanical environment is strongly preferred.
- Experience sourcing any of the following categories would be an advantage: electrical or electronic components, mechanical or fabricated parts, raw materials or industrial chemicals, production machinery and equipment, electronics manufacturing Services, subcontracted manufacturing services
- Practical experience supporting NPI, NPD, product development, localization, or engineering-related sourcing projects.
- Strong supplier sourcing, quotation analysis, cost analysis, negotiation, and contracting capabilities.
- Experience in supplier qualification, supplier performance management, supplier development, and supply risk management.
- Strong project management, stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
- Experience guiding, coaching, or developing purchasing and sourcing team members.
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and challenge existing practices constructively.
