Full Time Assistant Chief Steward Jobs, Salary up to MYR 3,200 in Pullman Kuching Sarawak - Maukerja

The Assistant Chief Steward assists the Chief Steward in overseeing the daily operations of the Stewarding Department, ensuring the cleanliness, hygiene, organisation and availability of all kitchen equipment, chinaware, glassware, flatware and operating supplies. The role supports effective manpower planning, inventory control, cost management and compliance with food safety and hygiene standards while ensuring smooth support to all Food & Beverage and culinary operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Steward in managing the daily operations of the Stewarding Department and ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and according to hotel standards.
• Supervise and coordinate the Stewarding team, including task allocation, attendance, grooming, performance and discipline.
• Ensure proper cleaning, sanitising, storage and handling of chinaware, flatware, glassware, kitchen equipment and other operating equipment.
• Monitor the availability and proper condition of all operating equipment and coordinate timely replacement or repair of damaged items.
• Assist in controlling the flow and supply of chinaware, flatware, glassware and other operating equipment to ensure sufficient availability for daily operations and functions.
• Assist in planning and conducting regular inventory counts, including monitoring losses, breakages and discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of breakage, losses, stock levels and equipment movement, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Assist in monitoring departmental expenses and ensure operating costs remain within the approved budget.
• Support labour cost control by maintaining appropriate staffing levels based on business volume and operational requirements, including effective management of overtime and casual.
• Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of stewarding areas, dishwashing areas, garbage rooms, kitchen equipment and related facilities.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, occupational safety and hotel standards at all times.
• Coordinate with the Kitchen, Food & Beverage and Engineering teams regarding equipment requirements, maintenance and operational issues.
• Assist with staff training, coaching and development to maintain service, hygiene and operational standards.
• Ensure proper handling and safe use of cleaning chemicals and stewarding equipment.
• Assist the Chief Steward in implementing preventive measures to minimise breakage, wastage, equipment damage and unnecessary operating costs.
• Support the Chief Steward in preparing reports, schedules, inventory records and other departmental documentation.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Steward or management.

Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM3,200.00 per month
