Responsibilities
Food Preparation
: Assisting chefs in preparing cold foods, slicing meat, washing vegetables, butchering and cleaning poultry, fish, and seafood, and distributing food to staff for serving to customers.
Food Storage
: Storing food in designated containers and ensuring proper refrigeration and storage to prevent spoilage.
Hygiene and Workplace Safety
: Maintaining good food hygiene and kitchen safety practices, assisting in the cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen area, and ensuring compliance with food hygiene and safety guidelines.
Record Keeping
: Keeping records of the quantities of food used and informing supervisors when supplies are low or equipment is not functioning properly.
These responsibilities ensure that the kitchen operates efficiently and maintains high standards of food safety and quality.
