Responsibilities
We are seeking a Senior SAP IS-Retail Functional Consultant to play a key role in an end-to-end ECC to SAP S/4HANA transformation for a leading retail client in Singapore.
This role is tailored for a functional expert who specializes in
Buy (Procurement & Merchandising)
and
Sell (Pricing, Promotions, & Omnichannel Sales)
processes. A core priority for this position is hands-on expertise in
retail master data separation, harmonization, and migration
into S/4HANA. Candidates with a heavy focus on logistics/warehouse management (Move) will be less suited than those with deep commercial retail domain knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
Transformation Leadership:
Support the end-to-end ECC to S/4HANA Retail transformation lifecycle—from blueprinting and fit-gap analysis to go-live and hypercare.
Buy & Sell Process Design:
Conduct solution design workshops and configure core retail capabilities, including purchasing, price determination, promotions, sales, listing, and assortments.
Master Data Separation & Migration:
Drive the strategy and execution for master data separation, cleansing, harmonization, and migration into S/4HANA.
Core Entity Configuration:
Hands-on management of critical retail objects, including Article/Product Master, Site Master, Vendor/Customer to Business Partner (CVI), and Assortment Layouts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner closely with data migration lead, technical development teams, middleware integration leads, and key business stakeholders.
Testing & Cutover Management:
Lead functional test phases (SIT/UAT), design cutover sequences, and ensure a seamless system transition during go-live.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience:
8+ years of dedicated SAP IS-Retail / SAP Retail functional consulting experience.
Transformation Track Record:
Direct involvement in at least one full-lifecycle SAP ECC to S/4HANA migration or transformation project.
Buy & Sell Expertise:
Demonstrated strength in commercial retail processes (Pricing, Promotions, Bonus Buy, Purchasing, Assortments, and Allocations) over Move/EWM/Logistics.
Master Data Separation:
Proven, hands-on experience carving out and separating complex retail master data structures for S/4HANA migrations.
Core Retail Knowledge:
Deep functional proficiency across Article Master, Site Master, Vendor, Customer, and Assortments/Listings.
Stakeholder Management:
Excellent communication, facilitation, and workshop presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with
S/4HANA Retail for Merchandise Management
or
S/4HANA Fashion
.
Expertise in
Customer/Vendor Integration (CVI)
and Business Partner migration strategies.
Experience in large-scale organizational carve-outs, divestitures, or complex multi-entity master data separation programs.
Working knowledge of integrations connecting SAP S/4HANA to POS systems, e-commerce platforms, CAR, and external logistics/WMS solutions.
