Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of AI and machine learning initiatives from ideation through deployment. You will work closely with data scientists, ML engineers, software developers, business stakeholders and vendors to plan, execute and deliver AI solutions on time, within budget and aligned with business objectives. The role requires strong delivery discipline combined with a good understanding of the AI/ML lifecycle, data dependencies and responsible AI considerations.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of AI/ML projects, including use case discovery, proof of concept (PoC), pilot, deployment and post-launch support.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, milestones and success metrics in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain project plans, roadmaps, RAID logs (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies) and resource plans.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including data scientists, data engineers, ML engineers, software developers, QA, DevOps and business users.
• Manage data readiness activities such as data sourcing, quality checks, labelling, access approvals and governance requirements.
• Track model development progress, experimentation outcomes, model performance metrics and go-live readiness.
• Translate business requirements into clear technical requirements and communicate technical progress in business terms.
• Manage project budget, vendor relationships, third-party AI platforms and external partners.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, including data, model performance, security, privacy, ethical and regulatory risks.
• Ensure alignment with AI governance, responsible AI principles, data privacy (e.g. PDPA) and information security policies.
• Facilitate agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives) and steering committee meetings.
• Provide regular status reports, dashboards and executive updates to senior management.
• Drive change management, user adoption and training for AI solutions rolled out to the business.
• Capture lessons learned and contribute to best practices for AI project delivery.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, Business or a related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience in technology environments
• Solid understanding of the AI/ML lifecycle: data preparation, model training, validation, deployment (MLOps) and monitoring.
• Familiarity with AI concepts such as machine learning, NLP, computer vision, generative AI and large language models (LLMs).
• Proven experience with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and Waterfall or hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Proficiency with project tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Azure DevOps, Asana or equivalent.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with executives and non-technical business users.
• Excellent planning, risk management, budgeting and vendor management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage ambiguity in experimental, iterative work.

Preferred / Nice to Have

• PMP, PRINCE2, PMI-ACP, CSM or SAFe certification.
• Exposure to cloud AI platforms (Azure AI / Azure ML, AWS SageMaker, Google Vertex AI) and MLOps tooling.
• Experience delivering generative AI, chatbot, RPA or intelligent automation solutions.
• Understanding of data governance, AI ethics, model risk management and regulatory requirements.
• Hands-on familiarity with Python, SQL or BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) sufficient to engage with technical teams.
• Experience in regulated industries such as banking, insurance, telecommunications or healthcare.

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
