About The Opportunity
Horizontal Talent is supporting a leading international multidisciplinary engineering and project consultancy in hiring an experienced Resident Engineer – Civil & Structural (C&S) for a major Data Centre project in Serendah, Selangor.
This is a site-based position responsible for overseeing civil and structural construction activities, ensuring works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project requirements.

Horizontal Talent is supporting a leading international multidisciplinary engineering and project consultancy in hiring an experienced Resident Engineer – Civil & Structural (C&S) for a major Data Centre project in Serendah, Selangor.
This is a site-based position responsible for overseeing civil and structural construction activities, ensuring works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee site supervision of civil and structural works.
- Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications and contract requirements.
- Coordinate and monitor earthworks, foundations, reinforced concrete and structural steel works.
- Oversee site activities and ensure proper construction sequencing and progress.
- Review inspection records, test results, site reports and other project documentation.
- Monitor quality performance and ensure timely closure of non-conformances (NCRs).
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, MEP teams and other project stakeholders on civil and structural interfaces.
- Lead site coordination meetings and assist in resolving technical and construction issues.
- Monitor project progress against the baseline programme and identify potential delays or deviations.
- Ensure civil and structural works comply with HSE requirements and site safety standards.
- Oversee relevant field and laboratory testing, including soil testing, compaction and material compliance checks.
- Verify formation levels, structural tolerances and readiness of works prior to subsequent construction stages or handover.
- Support project testing, completion and handover activities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Graduate Engineer with BEM registration.
- Minimum 10–15 years of relevant Civil & Structural engineering experience.
- At least 3–5 years of site supervision / Resident Engineer experience.
- Strong experience in:
- Earthworks
- Foundations
- Reinforced concrete structures
- Structural steel
- Infrastructure works
- Utility coordination
- Experience working on large-scale industrial, mission-critical or Data Centre projects is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction quality control, testing and compliance requirements.
- Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
- Good understanding of local authority requirements, HSE and construction standards.
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, site-based project environment.
