Company Overview
METRO RAIL ENGINEERING SERVICES PTE LTD (MRES) is an engineering services firm with 15 years’ experience in Singapore’s rail power supply and infrastructure sectors. We specialize in project management, design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of high and medium voltage power systems.
Job Summary
You will manage full-set accounting processes and financial operations to ensure accurate and timely reporting, compliance, and support for audit and payroll functions within a dynamic engineering services environment.
Responsibilities
Perform full-set accounting including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger (GL) management to maintain accurate financial records
Execute daily bank reconciliations and ledger maintenance to ensure transaction accuracy and completeness
Manage fixed assets, accruals, and prepayments to maintain up-to-date asset and expense records
Record supplier and customer invoices, receipts, payments, expenses, and staff claims in the accounting system following approval of supporting documents
Maintain and update AP, AR, and GL entries, vendor and customer ledgers daily to ensure current transaction records
Prepare daily bank reconciliation reports, match receipts and payments, and escalate unreconciled items to the Singapore-based Accountant
Generate AP aging, AR aging, vendor statements, customer statements, fixed asset schedules, and month-end supporting schedules to support financial closing
Complete monthly financial close within D+10 timeline, preparing Trial Balance, Profit & Loss, and Balance Sheet statements
Conduct variance analysis and reporting to identify and explain financial discrepancies
Maintain organized filing of invoices, receipts, claims, schedules, and approval evidence in the company’s approved repository
Support GST filings and reconciliations quarterly, corporate tax submissions (ECI, Form C-S/C), and payroll statutory compliance including CPF and IR8A filings
Collaborate with audit and payroll teams by providing accurate data, complete schedules, and timely escalation of pending items
Preferred competencies and qualifications
Degree in Accounting, Business, or Economics is preferred but not mandatory
CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification is favored
Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central for accounting operations
Skilled in MS Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, to prepare reports and presentations
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and take initiative to meet objectives and deadlines independently
Positive, driven, and passionate work attitude with strong verbal and written communication skills

We provide comprehensive specialist services to Railway and Infrastructure development sectors from Project Management, Design, Installation, Testing & Commissioning and Maintenance for the following sub-systems;
High Voltage Power Supply
Conductor Rail - 3rd Rail
OHE/ ROCS
Rolling Stock Maintenance
Our core competency areas are High Voltage & Medium Voltage Power Supply systems which includes 22kV AC, 33kV AC, 750V DC, Stinger Rail, Railway Safety System PLC/ SCADA and Auxiliary Equipments.
SERVICES
We provide the following Project Management services to High Voltage Power Supply, Conductor Rail - 3rd Rail, OHE/ ROCS and Rolling Stock Maintenance. From start to finish, or provide specialist support for individual phases of the project.
