Job Description: IT Performance Tester (Banking Domain)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced IT Performance Tester to assess, analyse and optimise the performance, scalability and reliability of banking applications and systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting performance testing activities to ensure banking applications can handle high transaction volumes, meet performance requirements and deliver a reliable user experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, develop and execute performance test scripts, test scenarios and test plans for banking applications.

2. Conduct various types of performance testing, including:

* Load Testing

* Stress Testing

* Spike Testing

* Endurance / Soak Testing

* Volume Testing

* Scalability Testing

3. Perform performance testing on banking systems such as Core Banking, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, Payment Gateway and Digital Banking applications.

4. Develop and execute test scripts using performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, NeoLoad or Gatling.

5. Monitor and analyse system performance metrics, including response time, throughput, CPU utilisation, memory usage and transaction processing time.

6. Identify performance bottlenecks and work closely with developers, infrastructure teams, database administrators and system architects to resolve performance issues.

7. Analyse test results and prepare detailed performance testing reports with recommendations for system optimisation.

8. Validate system performance against defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and performance benchmarks.

9. Collaborate with business analysts, developers, QA teams and project stakeholders throughout the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).

10. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), System Integration Testing (SIT) and production performance validation when required.

Requirements

* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field.

* 3–8 years of experience in software testing, with strong experience in performance testing.

* Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as:

* Apache JMeter

* Micro Focus / OpenText LoadRunner

* NeoLoad

* Gatling

* k6

* Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies and testing life cycles.

* Experience in analysing application performance, identifying bottlenecks and troubleshooting technical issues.

* Knowledge of API testing, SQL queries, database performance and application monitoring tools.

* Experience with REST APIs, Web Services and distributed application architecture.

* Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Banking Domain Experience

* Experience in banking, financial services or fintech environments is highly preferred.

* Understanding of Core Banking Systems, Payment Processing, Fund Transfers, Loans, Cards and Digital Banking.

* Familiarity with high-volume financial transactions and banking system integration.

* Understanding of banking security, data integrity and transaction processing requirements.
