Teczo is an AI and data technology company based in Malaysia. We build data platforms, AI tools and digital solutions for energy and industry clients.
About the role
We are building a team for a production operations data project with a major upstream oil and gas operator in Malaysia. The project will bring production data into one trusted platform, automate reporting, and enable analytics and AI.
You will lead the data engineering work. You will design the pipelines, guide the data engineers, and make sure the data is clean, complete and on time.
This is a 12-month contract role, subject to project award.
What you will do
• Design and build data pipelines from production systems (e.g. historian, production accounting, SCADA, Excel sources) into a cloud data platform
• Build the data model for production, well and facility data
• Set up data quality checks, monitoring and alerts
• Automate daily and monthly production reports
• Review code and guide 2 data engineers
• Work with the architect, analysts and the client's operations team
• Write clear technical documents and handover notes
What you need
• Malaysian citizen
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• 6+ years in data engineering
• Strong SQL and Python
• Hands-on with Azure data tools (Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks or Fabric)
• Experience with ETL/ELT, data modelling and CI/CD for data
• Good written and spoken English
Nice to have
• Oil and gas production data experience (e.g. OSIsoft PI, EnergySys, Avocet, PPDM)
• Experience with PETRONAS or other upstream operators
• Microsoft Azure Data Engineer certificate (DP-203) or Fabric (DP-600/700)
• Based in Sarawak, or willing to travel to Sarawak
