About FIBERLINK

Fiberlink is building an independent, market-neutral international telecommunications wholesale business focused on international Voice and A2P Messaging. We connect mobile network operators, carriers, aggregators and enterprise/CPaaS partners across regional and global markets, supported by proven technology partners, vendor-managed operations and Group shared services.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Carrier Commercial & Trading Lead to build and manage Fiberlink's international Voice and A2P SMS wholesale business.

You will be responsible for developing and managing carrier relationships, sourcing and growing Voice and A2P SMS traffic, negotiating commercial agreements, and managing trading margins across international markets. The role requires close collaboration with Technical, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure successful partner onboarding, traffic activation, billing validation, and dispute resolution.

This is a hands-on commercial role suited for someone with strong experience in international telecom wholesale trading, carrier account management, and commercial negotiations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Carrier Portfolio & Business Development

  • Source, onboard and develop international Voice and A2P SMS suppliers and buyers, including carriers, mobile network operators, SMS aggregators and enterprise/CPaaS partners.
  • Own the commercial pipeline from initial engagement through contract, interconnection, traffic activation and account growth.
  • Develop opportunities through existing operator relationships while expanding Fiberlink's global portfolio. Represent Fiberlink at industry events such as ITW, Capacity and GCCM.

2. Sourcing, Pricing & Trading Margin

  • Source Voice termination and A2P SMS routes, negotiate commercial terms, and manage buy/sell relationships.
  • Maintain buy/sell rate sheets, routing priorities and commercial pricing.
  • Monitor traffic, route performance and gross profit, taking action to address margin deterioration.
  • Assess commercial opportunities, commitments and special deals before approval.

3. Partner Onboarding & Contract Execution

  • Coordinate partner onboarding and interconnection activities with Technical, Finance and Legal teams.
  • Ensure commercial terms, pricing, commitments and dispute terms are accurately documented before traffic activation.
  • Maintain proper records of commercial agreements, rate changes and partner approvals.

4. Account Management & Service Performance

  • Conduct partner reviews covering traffic, pricing, quality, disputes and growth opportunities.
  • Monitor Voice and SMS service performance and work with technical teams to address quality or routing issues.
  • Support FamClub carrier-access and termination negotiations where required.

5. Commercial Risk & Cross-Functional Control

  • Work with Finance on credit assessments, collections and overdue accounts.
  • Escalate suspicious traffic, contract breaches and materially loss-making trades.
  • Support billing validation, traffic review and settlement dispute resolution with Finance and carrier partners.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Telecommunications, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Hands-on and comfortable building processes in a lean, growing business.
  • Commercially aware, analytical and willing to challenge unsupported assumptions.
  • Strong negotiation, relationship management and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Strong written and verbal English, with disciplined documentation and follow-through.
  • High integrity and discretion when handling commercial, financial and partner information.

Essential Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in the Voice and SMS industry, with substantial hands-on experience in international wholesale trading, carrier relations, sourcing and sales.
  • Demonstrated experience managing buy/sell portfolios, negotiating rates and delivering profitable growth.
  • Strong commercial experience across both Voice and A2P SMS.
  • Practical knowledge of SIP, SS7 concepts, SMPP/HTTP, A2P messaging, DLR tracking and least-cost routing.
  • Experience interpreting Voice quality metrics, CDRs and SMS records, and validating invoices against commercial agreements.
  • Experience negotiating traffic agreements, service levels, payment terms, credit arrangements, rate changes and volume commitments.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with rate decks, traffic reports and margin analysis using Excel and carrier trading or billing systems.
  • Existing industry relationships are advantageous; demonstrated commercial success is more important than the size of an existing network.
