Job Description

The Fashion Merchandising Assistant supports the merchandising team in day-to-day product and sales operations, helping ensure products are well-organized, accurately priced, and ready to drive sales. This is an entry-level role offering hands-on exposure to merchandising fundamentals, ideal for someone eager to build a career in fashion retail.

Responsibilities

Fashion Design & Sampling:

• Research fashion trends, fabrics, and colors to support new collection planning.

• Sketch design ideas (flat sketches/croquis) to communicate concepts clearly to the team and factories.

• Prepare spec sheets, design sheets, and order forms for sampling and production.

• Oversee sampling progress, give feedback, and request adjustments as needed.

• Assist in fitting sessions to assess fit, drape, and construction; document all changes and revision history.

• Perform basic sewing/alteration for quick fixes, mock-ups, or sample adjustments during fittings.

Merchandising & Production:

• Liaise with suppliers & manufacturers to ensure on-time delivery.

• Prepare and track production order forms and timelines.

• Review samples and bulk production to ensure quality (QC).

• Keep product info organized and up-to-date in internal records.

Weekly Planning & Styling:

• Analyze sales data and customer feedback to improve upcoming designs.

• Assist with planning new arrivals, pricing, and quantity decisions.

• Coordinate closely with the live team to mix & match outfits for live sessions.

• Suggest designs for live hosts based on style, availability, and trends.

Campaign Shoots & Creative Support:

• Participate in campaign photo/video shoots for new in-house collections.

• Coordinate looks and product details for model shoots.

• Assist creative team with styling prep and design showcase ideas.
