Your new company

You'll be joining an established organisation within the consumer and retail sector, with a strong presence in Malaysia. As the business continues to strengthen its finance function, they are looking for an experienced Finance Manager who can combine strong accounting fundamentals with commercial awareness and stakeholder management.


Your new role

Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will take ownership of key finance and accounting activities across the business. Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing day-to-day finance and accounting operations, including GL, AP, AR and balance sheet management.
• Leading month-end and year-end closing, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Managing management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Monitoring cash flow, working capital and expenditure to support effective financial management.
• Strengthening internal controls, accounting policies and finance processes.
• Providing financial analysis and insights to support commercial and operational decision-making.
• Working closely with business stakeholders to improve profitability, cost management and overall financial performance.
• Liaising with auditors, tax agents, bankers and relevant external parties on statutory and compliance matters.
• Leading and developing the finance team while ensuring reporting deadlines and deliverables are met.
• Supporting finance transformation, process improvement and other ad hoc business initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with a professional accounting qualification being advantageous.
• Strong hands-on experience across full-set accounting, financial reporting and month-end closing.
• Good exposure to budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, working capital and financial controls.
• Experience within retail, FMCG, consumer, distribution or another high-volume commercial environment would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insights.
• Proven ability to work with and influence both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
