Freelance Freelance Chef Jobs, Salary up to MYR 55 in Selangor - Maukerja

We are a catering company looking to hire cooks to cook at our live stations at our events. You should possess the following:

• Experience cooking Indian food and/or Malaysian dishes, particularly for live cooking stations.

• Able to prepare any ONE of these dishes such as thosai, appam, mee goreng, roti canai and other local or Indian favourites.

• Comfortable cooking using large pans, commercial stoves, griddles or other live station equipment.

• Duration: 3-4 hours.

• Able to cook efficiently while maintaining food quality, taste and consistency during an event.

• Good understanding of food hygiene, cleanliness and safe food handling.

• Able to work independently and manage a live station during the event.

• Punctual, responsible and able to follow instructions from the event supervisor.

• Willing to work on weekends, public holidays and during peak festive periods, depending on event requirements.

• Able to travel to event venues within the assigned area (Klang Valley).

• Previous experience in catering, restaurants, hotels, weddings or banquet functions is an advantage.

• Prepare and cook food at live stations during catering functions and events.

• Cook any ONE dish such as thosai, appam, mee goreng or other Indian or Malaysian dishes according to the event menu.

• Operate commercial cooking equipment, including large pans, griddles and gas stoves, safely and efficiently.

• Serve freshly prepared food to guests and maintain a smooth flow of service during the event.

• Ensure food is cooked to the required standard, with consistent taste, quality and presentation.

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene at the cooking station throughout the event.

• Ensure ingredients, utensils and equipment are handled and stored properly.

• Coordinate with the catering and service team to ensure the live station runs smoothly.

• Assist with setting up the station before service and cleaning up after the function.

• Follow the event supervisor's instructions and comply with food safety and workplace safety requirements.
