Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Integration Specialist to join our team and support one of our key clients in designing, developing and operating scalable, reliable and observable enterprise integration solutions.

The role will focus on building seamless connectivity across enterprise platforms using API-led, microservices and event-driven architectures, supported by modern cloud-native technologies.

The successful candidate should have strong hands-on development experience with Java and/or Go, Kubernetes/OpenShift environments, APIs, integration patterns and observability technologies. The role will also contribute to production stability, DevOps practices, security and continuous improvement of enterprise integration standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesIntegration Design & Development

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable enterprise integration services using Java and/or Go.
  • Build reliable integration solutions connecting internal systems, enterprise platforms and external partners.
  • Design and implement API-led, microservices and event-driven architectures.
  • Develop reusable integration components and patterns to improve consistency and development efficiency.
  • Ensure integration solutions meet business and technical requirements.
  • Participate in technical design reviews and contribute to integration architecture decisions.

Kubernetes & OpenShift

  • Build, deploy and maintain containerised applications on Kubernetes and OpenShift (OCP) platforms.
  • Support deployment and operation of integration services within cloud-native environments.
  • Troubleshoot container, application and integration-related issues across different environments.
  • Work closely with infrastructure and DevOps teams to ensure platform readiness, reliability and scalability.

API & Event-Driven Integration

  • Design and implement RESTful APIs and enterprise integration services.
  • Develop integrations using appropriate messaging and event-driven patterns.
  • Support system-to-system and partner integrations.
  • Ensure APIs and integration services are secure, reliable and scalable.
  • Apply appropriate integration patterns based on business and technical requirements.

Performance, Scalability & Resilience

  • Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, availability and resilience.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend appropriate improvements.
  • Support capacity and performance optimisation of integration services.
  • Design solutions capable of supporting distributed and high-availability environments.

Observability & Monitoring

  • Implement strong observability practices across integration services.
  • Configure and utilise monitoring and telemetry solutions for logs, metrics and traces.
  • Work with tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana or equivalent platforms.
  • Monitor integration health and identify potential reliability or performance issues.
  • Use operational data to improve platform stability and troubleshooting capabilities.

Production Support & Troubleshooting

  • Support production integration services and investigate complex technical issues.
  • Troubleshoot API, middleware, messaging and application integration failures.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis for recurring or critical production incidents.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve system reliability.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams during major incidents and production issues.

DevOps & CI/CD

  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to establish and improve CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support automated application build, testing and deployment processes.
  • Contribute to infrastructure readiness and deployment automation.
  • Promote consistent development and deployment practices across integration services.
  • Support continuous delivery and operational automation initiatives.

Security & Compliance

  • Apply security best practices across APIs, integrations and data exchange.
  • Ensure integration solutions comply with applicable security and technology standards.
  • Support secure authentication, authorisation and communication between systems.
  • Identify potential security risks during solution design and implementation.

Technical Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in design and code reviews.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of integration standards, patterns and reusable components.
  • Identify opportunities to improve development, deployment and operational practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance where required.
  • Promote engineering best practices across development and production operations.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 6 to 10 years of experience in integration, middleware, backend engineering or a related technical role.
  • Strong hands-on programming experience with Java and/or Go.
  • Proven experience building and deploying applications on Kubernetes and/or OpenShift (OCP).
  • Strong experience implementing APIs, microservices and/or event-driven architectures.
  • Good understanding of REST APIs, messaging systems and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Practical experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana or equivalent.
  • Experience working with cloud-native and distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and automation technologies.
  • Strong understanding of application performance, scalability, resilience and availability.
  • Good knowledge of API and integration security best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience supporting production systems and resolving complex integration issues.
  • Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and mentor junior team members.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage technical priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing to work in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
