Who We Are
EnglishScore is the British Council's mobile English test. Our AI-powered app tests and certifies English levels in over 170 countries, and more than 2.5 million new users take it every year. Universities, employers and government departments use it to test and certify their students, staff and citizens.
The Role
This is an international role. You'll market EnglishScore to learners and partners across Asia, Latin America and beyond, not to Malaysia specifically. All our marketing is in English, and so is the team. You don't need any other language.
You'll work directly with our Head of Marketing, who sets the strategy. You make it happen. Half the job is creative: telling stories that make people act. Half is analytical: tracking what works and keeping everything organised.
What The Work Looks Like
- A university partner has 5,000 students, but only 400 have taken the test. You work with the account manager to find out why, then plan and run the campaign that fixes it.
- Learners worry their English isn't good enough to test. You turn that doubt into posts, emails and short videos that get them to try anyway.
- A partner gets great results. You turn it into a case study, a LinkedIn post and a one-pager our sales team can use.
- Every month you report what worked and what didn't. Your campaigns, files and trackers are so organised that anyone can find anything.
- Before anything goes out, you catch what's off: spacing, hierarchy, a weak headline. This applies whether it was made by you, an AI tool or an agency.
- Keeping our socials active weekly (Instagram and LinkedIn) as a positive trust signal for prospects.

- You have an eye for design and can make a decent mock-up (Canva, Figma or AI tools)
- You have 2–4 years of hands-on marketing and can show what your work achieved
