Position: Room Attendant
Location: Grand Swiss-Belhotel Melaka
Department: Housekeeping

Position Summary

The Room Attendant is responsible for ensuring that all assigned guest rooms are maintained to the hotel's standards of cleanliness, hygiene, comfort and presentation. The role contributes directly to guest satisfaction by delivering a consistently clean, comfortable and welcoming room experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and service assigned guest rooms in accordance with established hotel standards and procedures.
• Make beds, replace bed linen and towels and ensure rooms are properly arranged and presented.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, bedrooms and other areas within guest rooms.
• Replenish guest amenities, toiletries, minibar items and other room supplies as required.
• Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop and perform detailed cleaning of guest rooms.
• Check room facilities and promptly report maintenance defects, damages or missing items to the supervisor.
• Ensure all guest rooms are serviced efficiently and prepared within the required time standards.
• Handle guest belongings with care and strictly follow the hotel's Lost and Found procedures.
• Respond courteously and professionally to guest requests and enquiries when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of housekeeping trolleys, pantries, equipment and storage areas.
• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and according to established procedures.
• Comply with hotel policies, safety requirements, hygiene standards and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate a positive, service oriented attitude at all times.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Management or immediate supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum SPM or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience as a Room Attendant or in hotel housekeeping will be an advantage.
• Good attention to detail and a strong commitment to cleanliness.
• Able to work efficiently with minimum supervision and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Responsible, reliable, disciplined and hardworking.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.

Pay: RM1,600.00 - RM1,800.00 per month
