Job Summary
The M&E Engineer will support the development of a new manufacturing facility by managing M&E infrastructure, factory utilities, equipment installation, and machinery relocation, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure safe and effective integration.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review technical specifications for mechanical, electrical, utility, and factory infrastructure works to meet project requirements
Review construction drawings, equipment layouts, technical submissions, and method statements to ensure accuracy and compliance
Coordinate and monitor M&E construction, installation, and modification works to align with project schedules and safety standards
Liaise with consultants, contractors, suppliers, production teams, and other stakeholders to resolve technical and site coordination issues
Plan and execute machinery and production equipment relocation, including dismantling, transportation, positioning, installation, and recommissioning
Coordinate factory utility requirements such as electrical power, compressed air, gas, oil, and water to support production machinery and equipment
Review machinery layouts, equipment loading, foundations, access requirements, and utility connection points to ensure proper integration with building infrastructure
Coordinate technical requirements for production machinery and equipment used in power transformer manufacturing and heavy industrial operations
Identify and resolve M&E, utility, machinery, and building-interface issues during construction, installation, and relocation activities
Manage equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities to ensure operational readiness
Monitor project progress and coordinate activities to minimize disruption to manufacturing operations
Support troubleshooting and technical resolution of facility, utility, and equipment-related issues
Prepare and maintain engineering drawings, layouts, technical documentation, progress records, and project schedules
Ensure engineering and installation works comply with applicable safety requirements, technical standards, and project specifications
Required competencies and certifications
Recognized qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
Japanese language proficiency for regular technical coordination with Japan-based engineering stakeholders and for reviewing Japanese-language technical documents, equipment information, drawings, and specifications
Preferred competencies and qualifications
Practical knowledge of factory machinery, production equipment, and supporting infrastructure
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, equipment layouts, utility drawings, and technical specifications
Knowledge of machinery installation, foundations, positioning, alignment, testing, and commissioning
Familiarity with material handling, lifting, or relocation of industrial equipment
Experience in power transformer manufacturing or other heavy manufacturing environments
Proficiency in 2D and/or 3D CAD applications
