Full Time Building Maintenance Technician (Handyman) Jobs, Salary up to MYR 3,000 in Cobnb Federal Territory - Maukerja

1. Job Purpose

To carry out general renovation, installation, repair, maintenance, and defect rectification works for residential properties managed or renovated by Cobnb Reno & Deco Sdn Bhd. The Handyman is responsible for ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to the required quality standards and project timelines, particularly for short-term rental (STR) and Airbnb units.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. General Renovation Works

- Carry out minor renovation and repair works at residential units.

- Perform painting, patching, plastering, and wall touch-up works.

- Install feature wall panels, fluted panels, decorative items, curtain rods, shelves, and other fittings.

- Assist with minor partitioning and carpentry installation where competent.

- Install and assemble furniture, beds, cabinets, tables, and other loose furniture.

- Assist with lighting installation, wiring-related tasks, and replacement of electrical accessories where appropriately qualified and authorised.

B. Defect Rectification & Maintenance

- Inspect and rectify defects identified by the Site Supervisor or project team.

- Repair loose handles, hinges, locks, door stoppers, drawers, and other fittings.

- Attend to minor plumbing issues, including leaking taps, clogged drains, and replacement of basic fittings, where competent.

- Repair damaged walls, chipped paint, loose panels, and minor fixture defects.

- Conduct final touch-ups before unit handover or STR onboarding.

- Report major defects or issues requiring specialist contractors.

C. STR Unit Setup & Readiness

- Assist with furniture assembly, appliance installation, and basic unit setup.

- Ensure furniture, fixtures, fittings, and installed items are properly secured and functional.

- Support the project team in preparing units for photography, owner handover, and guest occupancy.

- Perform final checks on completed works and report outstanding items.

D. Tools, Materials & Site Management

- Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition.

- Inform the Site Supervisor of material shortages, damaged tools, and additional items required.

- Keep work areas clean, organised, and free from unnecessary hazards.

- Use materials responsibly and minimise wastage.

- Follow site safety requirements and building management renovation rules.

E. Reporting & Coordination

- Report daily work progress to the Site Supervisor.

- Follow the assigned work schedule and prioritise tasks according to project deadlines.

- Take before-and-after photos of completed work when required.

- Inform the Site Supervisor immediately of delays, unexpected defects, or work that cannot be completed as planned.

- Coordinate with other renovation workers and subcontractors to avoid work delays.

3. Job Requirements

- Minimum SPM or equivalent qualification preferred.

- At least 1–3 years of experience in handyman, building maintenance, renovation, or related work.

- Practical skills in painting, furniture assembly, wall panel installation, minor repairs, and general maintenance.

- Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing works is an advantage.

- Ability to use common hand tools and power tools safely.

- Able to work independently and follow instructions from the Site Supervisor.

- Physically fit and able to travel between project sites.

- Possess a valid driving licence; own transport is an advantage.

- Responsible, punctual, hardworking, and attentive to workmanship quality.

4. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Performance will be assessed based on the following:

1. Work Completion: Assigned tasks completed within the agreed timeline.

2. Workmanship Quality: Minimal rework and recurring defects.

3. Defect Rectification: Defects resolved within the target turnaround time.

4. STR Readiness: Units prepared according to the renovation or onboarding schedule.
