NETWORK BUILD ENGINEER

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Network Build Engineer to join our client's team in Kuala Lumpur.

This role is ideal for a networking professional with strong hands-on experience in network infrastructure, network security, and cloud networking. You will be responsible for designing, building, configuring, testing, and deploying network solutions while supporting complex infrastructure projects in a global environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement network solutions, migration strategies, and deployment plans for projects of varying complexity.
• Perform hands-on configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization of network infrastructure and security systems.
• Support network deployments in secure, multi-tenant cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Prepare technical build documents, methods of procedure (MOPs), operational support procedures, deployment plans, and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Develop business cases and financial analysis to support proposed network deployments.
• Implement network standards and collaborate with Network Engineering and Network Operations teams.
• Conduct knowledge transfer and ensure smooth transition of new deployments to operational support teams.
• Provide technical support for new deployments, Tier 3 escalations, and after-hours issues when required.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and network automation.
• Work with stakeholders to gather technical requirements, assess infrastructure needs, and develop effective solutions.
• Communicate technical solutions through workshops, presentations, diagrams, and documentation.

Must-Have Technical Skills:

Network Routing – Layer 3

• IPv4, BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
• PIM, HSRP, DMVPN, NHRP, and GETVPN

Network Switching – Layer 2

• Spanning Tree Protocol
• VLANs, QinQ, and 802.1Q

Network Security

• Strong hands-on experience with Check Point and Fortinet firewalls
• Operational experience with Proxy, WAF, and IPS technologies

Network Infrastructure

• Hands-on configuration of networking equipment, management tools, and network analyzers
• Experience with load-balancing platforms such as F5 and Citrix
• Ability to create network diagrams using Visio or Lucidchart

Requirements:

• 5–7 years of proven experience managing, provisioning, and implementing network and network security technologies in a large, globally distributed environment.
• Strong practical troubleshooting and implementation skills across complex network environments.
• Ability to prepare detailed technical documentation, deployment procedures, and network diagrams.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, self-managed environment.
• Experience working within an Agile Scrum framework and delivering work through sprint-based activities.

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Cisco CCNP-level knowledge or certification.
• Good understanding of cloud networking technologies across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Network automation experience using Python and/or Ansible.
• Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure projects and technical solution delivery.
