• Equipped with relevant educational background in coffee-related studies or related field.

• Minimum 4-6 years of working experience in coffee related industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Hands-on coffee roasting experience will be additional advantage.

• Strong understanding of coffee related knowledge

• Familiar with production planning, inventory management, stock control, and production equipment.

• Understanding of production yield, wastage management, and operational cost control.

• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, workplace safety, and production compliance requirements.

• Strong record-keeping, reporting, and operational improvement skills.

• Strong leadership and people management skills.

• Strong sense of responsibility and accountability for production performance.

• High attention to detail and commitment to coffee quality and consistency.

• Proficiency in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia

• Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin will be an added advantage

• Production-based working environment involving coffee roasting and packing operations.

• May require early working hours depending on production schedules.

• Flexibility may be required to support business activities, events, competitions, promotions, or operational requirements outside regular working hours, including occasional weekends where necessary.

A)  Production Planning & Operations

a)   Plan and oversee daily and weekly roasting and production schedules based on business requirements, stock levels, and sales demand.

b)   Ensure roasting, packing, labelling, and order preparation are completed accurately and within required timelines.

c)   Monitor production capacity and allocate manpower and resources according to operational needs.

d)   Identify production bottlenecks and implement practical improvements to increase productivity and efficiency.

B)  Coffee Quality & Product Standards

a)   Monitor roasted coffee quality and consistency across production batches, including cupping and product evaluation where required.

b)   Maintain accurate roasting and quality records and investigate quality-related issues with appropriate corrective actions.

c)   Work with relevant stakeholders on coffee quality improvement and product development initiatives.

C)  Inventory & Wastage Management

a)   Monitor green bean, roasted bean, packaging material, and other production inventory levels.

b)   Ensure adequate stock availability while supporting proper stock rotation, storage, and replenishment planning.

c)   Monitor material usage, production yield, and wastage and implement initiatives to reduce unnecessary losses.

d)   Support regular stock counts and investigate inventory discrepancies where required.

D)  Equipment, Safety & Compliance

a)   Ensure roasting machines, grinders, packing equipment, and other production equipment are properly operated and maintained.

b)   Coordinate preventive maintenance and follow up promptly on equipment breakdowns or technical issues.

c)   Ensure compliance with company SOPs, food safety, hygiene, workplace safety, and storage requirements.

d)   Support audits and inspections and ensure corrective actions are completed promptly.

E)  Team Management & Development

a)   Lead and supervise the roastery production team to ensure smooth daily operations.

b)   Allocate responsibilities and monitor staff productivity, attendance, discipline, and performance.

c)   Train team members on roasting processes, production SOPs, equipment handling, quality standards, and safety requirements.

d)   Identify development needs and foster effective teamwork and communication within the roastery.

F)  Reporting & Cross-Functional Coordination

a)   Maintain and review production, inventory, wastage, quality, and operational records.

b)   Provide regular updates to Management on production performance, stock requirements, quality issues, and operational challenges.

c)   Coordinate with Operations, Warehouse, Procurement, Finance, and other relevant teams to meet production requirements.

d)   Support forecasting for promotions, events, seasonal demand, and new outlet requirements, and perform other duties assigned by Management.

e)   Coordinate and support roastery-related events, activations, competitions, workshops, or other business initiatives, including preparation, manpower coordination, product requirements, equipment setup, and on-site operational support where required.
