Company Overview

Our client is a leading civil engineering and construction main contractor in Singapore, delivering complex infrastructure projects for major public-sector clients.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will lead M&E coordination on a major public infrastructure project, delivering compliant, well-coordinated M&E works from design through to handover.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the M&E coordination team, comprising Senior M&E Coordinators, M&E Coordinators, an Assistant BIM Manager and BIM Coordinators.

• Chair M&E coordination and interface meetings, and coordinate with our client, consultants, specialist subcontractors, system wide contractors, interfacing contractors, stakeholders, authorities and internal departments.

• Review working drawings, combined services drawings and BIM models, and resolve discrepancies across architectural, structural and M&E disciplines, as well as site installation issues, in line with project specifications, statutory and client requirements.

• Plan and schedule M&E works to meet contract requirements and key milestones and propose cost-saving alternatives to the project management team.

• Obtain approvals for M&E shop drawings, coordinated combined services drawings, materials, method statements and site installation permits within our organisation’s scope.

• Provide timely M&E clearance to the construction team before walls, floor slabs and other elements are cast.

• Oversee testing and commissioning of M&E systems with subcontractors, and coordinate handover complete with documentation to our client.

• Evaluate domestic subcontractor quotations, and support the Commercial Department in raising RFIs for works outside our contract limits or obligations.

• Maintain documentation in line with the company’s ISO procedures, prepare M&E progress reports, and track technical queries and approvals until project completion.

Required Competencies and Certifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services or equivalent.

• At least 8 years of M&E engineering experience in infrastructure projects.

• Proven experience managing design, construction and approval interfaces.

• Strong technical, problem-solving and team leadership skills.

• Clear communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Competencies and Qualifications

• Experience in water, used-water or drainage infrastructure projects, such as water reclamation plants, pumping stations or deep tunnel sewerage works.

• Familiarity with pumping, ventilation, odour control, power and instrumentation systems.

• Familiarity with BIM-based coordination.

• Proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced site environment.
