Job Description
Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef and Cook in preparing and cooking food according to recipes and menu requirements.
Wash, peel, cut, and prepare vegetables, meat, seafood, and other ingredients.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, cooking stations, utensils, and equipment.
Ensure proper food storage, labelling, and stock rotation according to FIFO procedures.
Check the freshness and quality of ingredients before use.
Assist with daily food preparation, portioning, plating, and serving during service hours.
Monitor food stock levels and inform the supervisor when ingredients need replenishment.
Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
Clean kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and floors after food preparation and service.
Assist with receiving deliveries and checking the quantity and quality of ingredients.
Minimise food wastage and use ingredients efficiently.
Perform other kitchen duties assigned by the Head Chef or supervisor.
