Job Description

The successful candidate will work with Asst. Prof. Tan Yan Shuo on statistical and machine learning theory under a project on the theoretical foundations of decision trees and ensembles.

The main responsibilities of the position include proving theorems, forming new theoretical hypotheses, performing simulations, writing papers to communicate results, all under the PI’s direction.

Qualifications / Discipline: 
•    PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.

Skills:  
•    Strong mathematical training, deep understanding of statistical machine learning theory, especially in decision trees and ensembles.

Experience:  
•    Has several first author papers under review or published in top statistics or machine learning venues.
