About the Role

Our client is looking for a Technical QA Engineer / SDET to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of its backend services and platform. This role combines hands-on API and integration testing, test automation, and release validation across backend systems and web/mobile applications.

You’ll work closely with Engineering to identify defects, improve test coverage, strengthen release readiness, and leverage AI tools to accelerate testing and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test plans, test cases, automated regression suites, and testing frameworks.
• Perform API, backend, frontend, and integration testing across platform services and applications.
• Build and maintain automated tests using TypeScript/JavaScript and Playwright or Cypress.
• Validate critical workflows, including credential flows, wallet transactions, provider integrations, sandbox environments, and web/mobile application functionality.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support reliable releases and faster feedback cycles.
• Investigate test failures, analyze logs, reproduce production issues, and collaborate with engineers to identify root causes and implement fixes.
• Conduct release validation, resilience testing, performance testing, and SLA verification.
• Maintain regression coverage and assess risks associated with code changes, integrations, and releases.
• Support compliance and audit requirements through reliable test evidence, documentation, and traceability.
• Use AI tools to accelerate test generation, flaky test investigation, log analysis, failure triage, documentation, and automation development.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Technical QA, Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), or test automation engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript/JavaScript, Playwright or Cypress, API testing tools, and test automation frameworks.
• Solid experience testing APIs, backend services, distributed systems, and third-party integrations.
• Experience designing and maintaining automated regression suites and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman and Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Working knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL for data validation and troubleshooting.
• Strong debugging skills, including log analysis, defect reproduction, root-cause investigation, and collaboration with Engineering.
• Understanding of release management, regression risk, system reliability, and production quality assurance.
• Experience using AI-powered tools to improve testing efficiency and accelerate automation workflows.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Node.js and TypeScript-based applications.
• Experience with wallet systems, credential management, payment flows, or external provider integrations.
• Exposure to performance and load testing, resilience testing, and SLA validation.
• Experience testing web and mobile applications across multiple environments.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices.
• Experience with compliance-sensitive systems or maintaining evidence for audits and regulatory reviews.
• Experience using AI coding assistants for test generation, debugging, and automation improvement.
