Education / qualification

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

Work experience

• At least 5 years of experience in full-stack web software development

• Preferably with 1 year of technical team leadership experience

• Available for after-hours releases and scheduled software deployments

• Willing to use company-issued equipment according to IT security policy

• Able to maintain strict data confidentiality regarding customer finance records

• Deep knowledge of microservices architecture and system scalability

• Understanding of OWASP Web Application Security standards and data protection

• Strong grasp of Agile software development principles and methodologies

Skills

• Proficient in TypeScript, Node.js, and React development frameworks

• Hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL and Redis database management

• Skilled in Docker and Kubernetes for application container deployment

• Proficient with Git version control and automated CI/CD pipelines

Behavioural

• Able to guide junior software engineers during complex code implementation

• Stays calm and structured during production outages or tight release schedules

• Works well with product management teams when defining feature specifications

• Lead the development team to deliver quality automotive software solutions for the business

• Ensure reliable platform performance and API integrations within agreed project timeframes

• Maintain consistent code quality and architectural standards across the IT department

Key responsibilities

• Lead software engineers in developing used-car trading platforms using React and Node.js

• Develop and maintain secure RESTful APIs for automotive insurance integrations

• Conduct weekly code reviews to enforce software quality across the team

• Oversee database performance and system scalability on AWS cloud infrastructure

• Resolve critical software bugs and outages within 24 hours
