About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Technician to join our team at the PETRONAS Geoscience Centre (PGSC). As a Technician for Core Analysis Services, you will play a vital role in supporting routine core services, managing geo-sample data, and ensuring all outputs meet PGSC requirements. This position reports directly to the Operation Manager and involves close collaboration with the operations team.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Routine Core Analysis services at PGSC and ensure all outputs meet PGSC requirements
• Assist in managing work plans, staff leave, staff activities, and liaise with Operation Manager
• Maintain RCA equipment and perform basic servicing
• Source consumable items for core services
• Perform Data QA & QC: sample sorting, cataloguing, labelling, re-boxing/rebottling, geo-sample relocation, and metadata upload into PETRONAS Database
• Perform Data Capture: core photo preparation, UV/white-light photography, photo editing, and upload into PETRONAS database
• Perform Data Preservation & Restoration for geo-samples
• Perform Data Sampling: retrieve sample weight and plugging on conventional core
• Handle Data Delivery: geo-sample retrieval/layout/storage and cold transport for fluid samples
• Perform non-routine tasks: core resination, core glue, vacuum packing, core plugging, core slabbing, and disposal of aging pallets/boxes
• Supervise HSE compliance of staff to PGSC requirements
• Record work done and provide timesheet information for Finance

Requirements

• Minimum 1 years of experience in Operation in Engineering
• Diploma
• Key skills: Management skills, written and verbal communication skills, strategic decision-making skills, analytical skills, empathy, visionary leadership
