Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate
Assistant Teacher
to support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and enriching learning environment for preschool-aged children. The ideal candidate should have a love for working with young children, be a team player, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow in the field of early childhood education.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and conducting daily lessons, activities, and routines based on the school’s curriculum.
Support children's learning through play-based and inquiry-based experiences.
Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, including supervising playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and social-emotional development.
Assist in preparing and organizing teaching materials, learning resources, and classroom setups.
Observe, document, and communicate children's progress and behavior to the Lead Teacher and parents when required.
Build strong, professional relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating classroom environment.
Participate in school events, field trips, and community outreach programs.
Adhere to the preschool’s policies and guidelines, ensuring compliance with ECDA (Early Childhood Development Agency) regulations.
Requirements:
Minimum
FECCE OR
ACEY (Advanced Certificate in Early Years)
or
higher
qualification in Early Childhood Education.
Relevant experience in a preschool or childcare setting is an advantage.
Passion for working with young children and supporting their holistic development.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Positive attitude, patience, and a nurturing personality.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain one) is preferred.
