About the Role

VME Technical Services Sdn Bhd is seeking a Junior Chemical Engineer specialising in Cost Estimation and Technical Proposals to support our process package engineering projects. This role is ideal for Chemical Engineering graduates interested in engineering cost estimation, technical documentation, process equipment and proposal preparation.

Key Responsibilities

• Review engineering specifications and tender documents to prepare cost estimates.
• Interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and prepare Material Take-Offs (MTOs).
• Estimate material, fabrication and labour costs for engineering projects.
• Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers, vendors and fabricators.
• Assist in preparing technical and commercial proposals for project bids.
• Maintain pricing databases and supplier cost references.
• Support Senior Engineers and the Proposal Manager on estimation and process package engineering activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering is mandatory.
• Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of relevant engineering experience are encouraged to apply.
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications and engineering principles.
• Familiarity with P&IDs, MTOs, cost estimation or process equipment is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Good analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and spoken English with effective communication skills.
• Willing to work on-site in Bandar Puteri Puchong, Selangor, and legally eligible to work in Malaysia.

Preferred: Candidates with relevant internship experience and those available to commence work at short notice.
