Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Robotics Deployment Engineer to support the deployment and commissioning of robotic solutions at customer sites. You will be responsible for preparing site environments, setting up and configuring robots, conducting acceptance testing, supporting go-live, and ensuring a smooth handover to customers.

The role requires a combination of practical engineering skills, robotics configuration, basic networking knowledge, troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to work directly with customers during deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Robot Deployment & Commissioning

• Set up and commission robots at customer sites, including mechanical assembly, sensor mounting, power-up, charging dock installation, and initial functional checks.
• Conduct pre-deployment site checks to assess operational readiness, identify potential risks, and work with customers to resolve gaps before go-live.
• Perform robot mapping, localisation tuning, route definition, and parameter configuration based on the customer's operating environment.
• Configure and validate WiFi/network connectivity, cloud access, fleet management systems, and relevant customer IT requirements.

Testing & Go-Live Support

• Execute acceptance testing and verify robot performance against agreed deployment and operational criteria.
• Provide on-site support during initial live operations to troubleshoot issues and stabilise robot performance.
• Monitor early-stage deployment performance and identify issues that may affect reliability or customer operations.

Troubleshooting & Technical Support

• Perform first-level diagnosis and troubleshooting for hardware, software, connectivity, navigation, and operational issues.
• Collect system logs, error information, photographs, and other technical evidence to support issue investigation.
• Escalate complex technical issues to maintenance, software, product development, or engineering teams for further resolution.
• Provide feedback on recurring deployment issues and opportunities to improve robot setup, configuration, and deployment processes.

Customer Training & Handover

• Train customer operators and supervisors on basic robot operation, safety procedures, charging, daily checks, and first-level troubleshooting.
• Conduct formal handover upon successful deployment and provide relevant operating documentation and escalation contacts.
• Serve as the key technical point of contact during deployment and initial operational stabilisation.

Documentation & Reporting

• Complete deployment, commissioning, testing, and handover reports accurately and on time.
• Maintain and update robot configuration and asset records.
• Document site-specific challenges, technical findings, and lessons learnt for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience in robotics deployment, commissioning, field engineering, automation, or similar technical roles would be advantageous.
• Basic understanding of robotic systems, sensors, navigation, mapping, and localisation.
• Familiarity with WiFi, IP networking, cloud connectivity, and system configuration.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Comfortable performing hands-on technical work at customer sites.
• Able to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical users.
• Willing to travel to customer sites and provide deployment or go-live support when required.
