Job Description

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

Tau is a behaviour change business within Taylor's Education Group, working with leading enterprises across Southeast Asia. Most corporate learning is built to be delivered. Ours is built to increase the odds that people actually change how they work.

Every journey starts with a sparking experience that makes people want to work differently: inside organisations that excel at it, reflecting with coaches, or practising in realistic simulations. Then come months of practice in their real work, through the Tau app, until the new way holds.

We carry the backing of Taylor's, one of Southeast Asia's most established education groups: in education since 1969, with around 35,000 learners in institutions in 4 countries, including Taylor's University, ranked in the top 1% of universities globally (QS World University Rankings).

The Growth Manager will build Tau's B2B pipeline, from first touch to paid seat, signed client and expansion. The role runs demand generation across LinkedIn, CRM, email, content and partnerships, and looks after a portfolio of HR and L&D heads who send their leaders. This role joins Tau's commercial team in January 2027. It is hands-on: you set the playbook, run the channels and own the numbers.

Best suited to someone who would rather build a growth engine than inherit one.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Pipeline and demand generation

  • Own the funnel from lead to MQL, SQL, paid seat or signed client, and expansion; set conversion targets per stage and fix the leaks.
  • Define ideal customer profiles and target accounts with the Head of Commercial, and run account-based campaigns for priority sectors.
  • Plan and run the campaigns that fill each open programme against a seat target and budget.
  • Run paid campaigns on LinkedIn and Google, managing budget, creative testing, cost per SQL and return on spend.
  • Build lead scoring and nurture flows in the CRM, using email, automation and AI tools.

2. Content and brand

  • Own Tau's LinkedIn page, newsletter and ************* content calendar, working with Taylor's Education Group Comms.
  • Produce content that builds trust with HR, L&D and business leaders: case studies, participant stories, guides and webinars.
  • Own website conversion: landing pages, enquiry flows and basic SEO.

3. Partnerships and channels

  • Build referral and co-marketing routes through past participants, partners, industry bodies and senior networks.
  • Use webinars and events to generate and nurture leads.

4. Client partnership

  • Look after a portfolio of accounts across banking, media, energy and other large enterprises.
  • Grow accounts by sending more leaders to future cohorts and opening new conversations within each client.

5. Data, reporting and operations

  • Set growth KPIs, including MQLs, SQLs, seats filled, pipeline value, cost per seat and win rate, and report weekly with clear recommendations.
  • Run a test-and-learn rhythm and move budget to what drives pipeline; stop any channel that is not working by week 4 of a campaign.
  • Agree lead definitions and hand-off rules with the Head of Commercial, hand qualified leads to the right colleague in the commercial team, and keep CRM data clean.
  • Hand over cleanly to Operations and Learning, so that what was sold is what gets delivered.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 7+ years in growth, demand generation, B2B marketing or business development, including at least 3 years selling or marketing to businesses.
  • At least 2 years owning a funnel or a revenue target.
  • A track record of measurable growth: pipeline, seats, revenue or conversion you moved, with numbers.
  • Hands-on with LinkedIn and Google paid media, including budget ownership and creative testing.
  • Strong CRM and marketing automation skills (HubSpot, Salesforce or similar): lead scoring, nurture flows and lifecycle email.
  • Experience managing vendors or partners against a budget.
  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field.

Valued, not required

  • Account-based marketing.
  • A background in executive education, premium events, professional services or B2B tech.
  • Knowledge of HRD Corp.
  • Networks in Southeast Asia.

COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

Knowledge

  • Knows the difference between the leader who attends and the HR or L&D head who signs off, and sells to each.

Skills

  • Commercial judgement: ties budget and activity to seats, pipeline and revenue.
  • Turns data into decisions using Google Analytics, spreadsheets and dashboards.
  • Confident in client conversations with HR, L&D and business leaders.
  • Clear writer and presenter who can report to senior leaders.
  • Uses AI tools to automate campaigns, content or lead scoring, and knows where they do not help.

Attributes and disposition

  • Comfortable in a lean, build-from-zero environment; can say “I don’t know” and then offer a hypothesis.

REPORTING & STRUCTURE

  • Reports to: Head of Commercial, Tau
  • Direct reports: none at the start
  • Works most closely with: the Head of Commercial and the commercial team, Operations and Learning
  • Employment: full-time, permanent, manager-level role
  • Working pattern: Hybrid, combining working from home and in the office in Kuala Lumpur. Some regional travel may be required, especially for client-facing roles.

SUCCESS MEASURES

Success measures in the first year:

  • First 30 days: funnel and CRM reviewed; ideal customer profile, lead definitions and baseline KPIs agreed with the Head of Commercial.
  • First 90 days: growth plan live; first open-programme campaign run end to end, with weekly pipeline reporting.
  • First 6 months: at least one open programme filled past its minimum cohort size; lead scoring and nurture flows live; MQL-to-SQL conversion and cost per seat improving against baseline.
  • First 12 months: a repeatable B2B pipeline engine and an agreed share of pipeline sourced by marketing.

HOW WE HIRE

Our process takes about eight weeks, and we keep you informed at every step:

  • Round 1: a 45-minute video conversation with the hiring manager, then a short task that resembles the work. You are welcome to use AI tools; we will ask how you used them.
  • Round 2: three separate conversations in person on one day, including a discussion of your task.
  • What we look for: beyond the experience above, we will look most closely at the growth you have driven, with numbers; how you turn data into decisions; and how you sell to both the leader who attends and the HR or L&D head who signs off.
  • We will tell you the outcome, whichever way it goes.

WHY JOIN TAU

  • Meaning. Most corporate learning ends when the session does. Ours keeps going until people work differently. You will help design and deliver the moment someone decides to change, and the months of practice that make the change last.
  • Entrepreneurship. We are early, and most of what you will work on does not exist yet: the methods, the products, even how we run. You will test ideas quickly, learn from experts, use AI as a working tool, and change course when the evidence says so.
  • Reach. Work with clients and colleagues across Southeast Asia, with the backing and reach of Taylor's Education Group. Many roles bring the chance to travel, to our clients and to where we bring them to learn.
  • Growth. Work alongside exceptional people as part of a founding team and shape your own role as Tau grows. Take part in learning journeys inside and outside Tau. Access education benefits for you and your family at Taylor's institutions.
  • Flexibility. Hybrid working, from home and in the office, and flexible employee benefits through Taylor's Education Group.

We hire pioneers, not followers. Much of what we do has no playbook yet. If you would rather write one than follow one, we would like to hear from you!
