About the Role

We are seeking to hire a technically competent and hands-on Mid-Level .NET Developer with strong experience in C#, ASP.NET MVC, React and Microsoft SQL Server to join our Information Technology team. This is a 100% remote, work-from-home position based in Malaysia, requiring the successful candidate to work during US business hours to provide direct technical support to our US-based development and operations teams.

The position combines software development, application maintenance, production support and troubleshooting, with a primary focus on supporting our internal platform and other business-critical applications used across US operations. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with US-based developers, IT managers and business stakeholders to investigate production issues, implement application enhancements and ensure system reliability during active US business operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Software Development & Application Maintenance

• Develop, maintain and enhance web-based applications using C#, ASP.NET MVC, .NET Framework and ASP.NET Core.
• Develop and maintain responsive user interfaces and application components using React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
• Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend application services.
• Troubleshoot application defects, implement bug fixes and support ongoing system enhancements.
• Follow established application architecture, coding standards and development best practices.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-documented code.

2. Production Support & Incident Troubleshooting

• Provide hands-on production support for business-critical applications during US business hours.
• Support the case management software, including troubleshooting application errors, technical issues and system integration failures.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents to minimise disruption to US-based business operations.
• Work closely with US-based developers and IT stakeholders to diagnose application behaviour, identify root causes and implement appropriate solutions.
• Monitor recurring application issues and recommend corrective or preventive improvements.
• Support application stability and performance during periods of high operational activity.
• Assist with other application development and technical support assignments as required.

3. Database Development & Systems Integration

• Develop, maintain and optimise Microsoft SQL Server queries, views and stored procedures.
• Perform database troubleshooting, query optimisation and performance analysis.
• Develop and support integrations involving REST APIs, external applications and third-party services.
• Investigate data-processing issues and support application-to-database connectivity.
• Assist with data integration, automation and ETL-related activities where required.
• Maintain data accuracy, integrity and reliability across application workflows.

4. Testing, Security & Application Reliability

• Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging and validation of application changes.
• Identify and resolve software defects before deployment into production environments.
• Apply secure coding principles, including input validation, appropriate error handling and data protection.
• Support application logging, monitoring and incident investigation.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvements in application performance, security and maintainability.

5. Technical Collaboration & Software Delivery

• Collaborate with US-based development teams, IT management and business stakeholders on application support and development activities.
• Use Azure DevOps for source control, work-item tracking, code reviews and development workflows.
• Participate in technical discussions, development meetings and troubleshooting sessions.
• Work with analysts, project managers and quality assurance teams to clarify application requirements and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain clear documentation of application changes, resolved incidents and development activities.
• Provide timely updates on assigned tasks, production incidents and technical challenges.

Required Qualifications & Technical Skills

• 3–5 years of professional experience in software development, preferably involving enterprise or business-critical applications.
• Strong hands-on development experience with C#, ASP.NET MVC, .NET Framework and/or ASP.NET Core.
• Practical, hands-on React development experience is mandatory.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL, queries, stored procedures and database troubleshooting.
• Experience in developing, maintaining and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML and CSS, with exposure to TypeScript.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming, web application architecture and software development principles.
• Experience with application debugging, troubleshooting, bug fixing and production support.
• Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps and CI/CD processes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate and resolve technical issues independently.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, particularly when collaborating with international teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred / Additional Technical Skills

• The following skills would be advantageous:
• Experience with Entity Framework Core, LINQ and asynchronous programming.
• Familiarity with Bootstrap, jQuery or other front-end technologies.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure services, including App Service, Key Vault and Storage.
• Experience with Azure DevOps Repos, Boards and Pipelines.
• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as xUnit or NUnit.
• Understanding of SSIS, ETL processes or workflow automation.
• Basic knowledge of SSRS or Power BI reporting.
• Familiarity with secure coding practices and OWASP principles.
• Previous experience supporting high-volume transactional applications, electronic filing systems, document-processing platforms or complex business workflows.

Working Arrangement & Shift Requirements

• This position is 100% Work From Home (Fully Remote) and follows US business hours.
• Work Location: Fully remote, based in Malaysia.
• Working Hours: US business hours, requiring a permanent Malaysia night shift.
• Night Shift Allowance: A monthly night shift allowance will be provided.
• Remote Working Requirements: Candidates must have reliable home internet connectivity and an appropriate working environment to support remote collaboration and production operations.
• US Team Collaboration: Candidates must be comfortable communicating and working directly with US-based developers, technical managers and business stakeholders throughout their assigned shift.
