Job Purpose:
To manage and support MAH’s public relations, corporate communications, marketing communications and digital presence, ensuring effective communication of the Association’s activities, initiatives and positions to members, media, stakeholders and the tourism and hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- To project a positive image of MAH by effectively communicating the Association’s activities, initiatives, achievements and positions to members, stakeholders and the tourism and hospitality industry.
- Develop and implement PR, communications and marketing strategies and activities to strengthen MAH’s corporate image, brand visibility and reputation.
- Prepare and manage press releases, media statements, speeches, talking points, media briefings, Q&As, newsletters, MAH and MAHTEC News and other corporate communications.
- Develop and manage corporate content, including newsletters, MAH News, articles, features, reports, website editorial content and other written materials.
- Maintain and manage MAH and MAHTEC websites and social media platforms, ensuring information, news and updates are current and timely.
- Plan and execute digital marketing and social media activities, including content planning, online campaigns, promotions and audience engagement.
- Provide creative concepts and coordinate the development of digital and marketing content, including graphics, photographs, videos, infographics, banners and other promotional materials.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with print, online, broadcast and social media, journalists, publishers and relevant media contacts to facilitate positive coverage of the Association and its programmes.
- Coordinate media enquiries, interviews, press conferences, media engagements and media familiarisation programmes.
- Monitor and report on relevant media coverage, industry issues, digital trends and social media performance, and provide updates to management and members where appropriate.
- Support the planning and management of communications and marketing budgets, activities and related resources.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PR, communications, marketing, digital media and hospitality/tourism industry trends.
- To perform any other tasks as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer and/or General Manager from time to time.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Mass Communications, Journalism or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in PR, corporate communications, marketing communications, media relations and/or digital marketing.
- Strong writing, editing, copywriting and communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Good understanding of media relations, social media and digital communication platforms.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with media, government agencies, industry partners and internal stakeholders.
- Creative, proactive, organised and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
- Experience in the hospitality, tourism, association or corporate environment would be an advantage.
