Audit delivery and quality
• Act as Team Leader or Audit Supervisor, as assigned, for complex and high-risk audits delivered by integrated, multi-location teams.
• Lead audit planning, detailed risk assessment, scoping, fieldwork, issue development, report drafting and closure in accordance with GIAI standards and agreed timelines.
• Ensure audit scope addresses the most significant risks and relevant regulatory expectations, with clear linkage between risk assessment, audit testing and conclusions.
• Provide timely direction, challenge and detailed review of audit work so that evidence, judgements and deliverables meet required quality standards.
• Deliver assignments within approved budgets, actively managing resources, dependencies and emerging risks to delivery.
• Identify root causes and articulate issues, risk impact and required outcomes clearly; obtain robust management action plans that address the underlying risk.
• Monitor and validate assigned issues and action plans, advising action owners where appropriate and escalating overdue or ineffective remediation.
• Use quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify patterns, outliers, control weaknesses and emerging risks; increase the use of data analytics, technology and artificial intelligence across audit work.
Portfolio coverage and technical contribution

• Support continuous monitoring of business, risk, regulatory and market developments and translate these into timely changes to audit coverage.
• Contribute to portfolio reporting for senior GIAI management, governance committees and regulators, focusing on the most significant themes, root causes and implications.
• Support other GIAI teams with wealth-management expertise and contribute to integrated audits involving technology, operations, credit, compliance and financial crime risk.
Stakeholder management and governance
• Build constructive relationships with senior business, risk, compliance and control stakeholders while providing independent, evidence-based challenge.
• Keep the Senior Audit Director informed of material business developments, changes in risk profile, regulatory concerns, audit findings and delivery risks.
• Communicate findings and underlying causes clearly to relevant stakeholders and support timely escalation through appropriate governance forums.
• Attend stakeholder and governance meetings when requested, bringing an independent audit perspective and identifying matters that may require further assurance.
People and talent
• Lead, motivate and coach audit teams, setting clear expectations and creating an inclusive environment with psychological safety and high standards.
• Provide candid, timely feedback and support the development of technical, analytical, leadership and stakeholder-management capability.
• Share knowledge across GIAI and contribute to learning sessions on wealth-management risks, regulation, products and audit practice.
• Develop personal capability beyond the primary specialism and remain current on emerging business models, technology and regulatory expectations.
