Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Test Manager with strong banking domain knowledge to lead and manage end-to-end software testing activities for banking applications and financial systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing test strategies, managing testing teams, overseeing test execution, ensuring quality assurance standards and delivering high-quality software solutions within project timelines.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in banking applications, digital banking, core banking systems, payment gateways and financial transaction systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Test Strategy & Planning

• Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies, test plans and test methodologies.
• Define testing scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines and resource requirements.
• Establish testing standards, procedures and quality assurance frameworks.
• Identify testing risks, dependencies and mitigation strategies.

2. Test Management & Leadership

• Lead and manage testing teams, including QA engineers, Test Leads and automation testers.
• Allocate testing resources and monitor team performance.
• Manage end-to-end testing activities across multiple banking projects.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers and business stakeholders.
• Provide regular testing progress reports and quality status updates to senior management.

3. Test Execution & Quality Assurance

• Oversee Functional Testing, SIT, UAT, Regression Testing, Integration Testing and Performance Testing.
• Ensure test cases, test scenarios and test scripts are properly designed and executed.
• Monitor defect identification, tracking, prioritisation and resolution.
• Ensure adequate test coverage and compliance with project requirements.
• Review test results and provide recommendations for production readiness.

4. Banking Domain & Application Testing

• Manage testing for banking applications and financial systems, including:
• Core Banking Systems.
• Internet and Mobile Banking.
• Digital Banking Applications.
• Payment Gateway and Payment Systems.
• Credit Card and Debit Card Systems.
• Fund Transfers and Financial Transactions.
• Loan Origination and Loan Management Systems.
• ATM and Electronic Banking Systems.
• Ensure accurate validation of financial transactions, payment processing and banking workflows.
• Work closely with business users to validate banking requirements and business processes.

5. Stakeholder & Project Management

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Participate in project meetings, Agile ceremonies and defect review sessions.
• Manage testing schedules, project dependencies and delivery milestones.
• Communicate testing risks, issues and project quality status to management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
• At least 3–5 years of experience in Test Management or Test Lead roles.
• Strong experience in the banking or financial services industry.
• Proven experience managing QA teams and multiple testing projects.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Hands-on experience in Functional Testing, SIT, UAT, Regression Testing and Integration Testing.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, HP ALM, Quality Center or Azure DevOps.
• Good understanding of banking applications, payment systems and financial transaction processes.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, analytical and communication skills.

Preferred Skills / Added Advantages

• Experience in Core Banking Systems such as Temenos T24, Finacle or FLEXCUBE.
• Knowledge of API Testing using Postman or SOAP UI.
• Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright or Cypress.
• Knowledge of Performance Testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner or NeoLoad.
• Experience in managing large-scale digital banking transformation projects.
• Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, PMP, CSM or other recognised testing and project management certifications.
