The Section Manager – Procurement, Commercial & Materials is directly responsible to the Chief Financial Officer, plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the procurement process within the organization. This position is responsible for strategizing, planning, and executing procurement activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Minimum 8 years of working experience
• Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills
• In-depth knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices
• Excellent leadership abilities
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to successfully interact with staff and internal or external partners to problem solve to achieve company goals
• Excellent communication and written skills in English
• Excellent computer skills especially with Microsoft Office i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc

Responsibilities:

• Procurement Strategy: Develop, communicate, and implement the organization’s procurement strategy aligned with its business objectives. Continuously evaluate and refine the strategy to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness
• Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships. Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements. Monitor supplier performance, quality and delivery
• Cost Management: Drive cost-saving initiatives through effective negotiation, cost analysis and supplier collaboration. Monitor and control procurement budgets to ensure cost targets are met
• Vendor Selection: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define procurement requirements and specifications. Lead the vendor selection process, considering factors such as price, quality and reliability
• Inventory Management: Optimize inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing carrying costs. Implement inventory control and forecasting strategies
• Contract Management: Oversee the development and management of procurement contracts. Ensure that contracts are properly negotiated, executed and maintained
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks. Develop contingency plans to address supply chain disruptions and other potential issues
• Process Improvement: Continuously improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency, transparency and accuracy. Implement best practices and technology solutions as needed
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the procurement team, providing guidance and professional development opportunities includes training to ensure that personnel are updated with latest methods, procedures and requirements; work allocation and problem resolution, as well as participating in decisions for hiring and performance evaluation. Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment
• Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all relevant laws including International trading issues, export and imports regulations, and company policies related to procurement activities. Stay informed about changes in legislation that may impact procurement processes. Strictly adhere to all the company’s Competition Compliance and Integrity Compliance; and other compliances, if any. Ensure team members adhere to all the required compliances including Competition Compliance and Integrity Compliance; and other compliances, if any.
