Summary:
The primary objectives would be to continuously maintain oversight of the electrical & instrumentation integrity of the operational assets and report any related equipment failures or maintenance and inspection efficiencies; and, provide technical support to Operations related to E&I failure investigations, inefficiencies, repairs, maintenance and inspections.
Key Accountabilities:
Maintain Oversight of Operational Assets' E&I Integrity:
- Maintain effective oversight of Synergi Life, CMMS, RiskPoynt and Asset Daily Reports to idetify and record E&I equipment failures, associated risk and corrective action plans.
- Manage and maintain the Ex-verification dossier which includes the hazardous area classification, Ex register, ITRs and certificates in accordance with the IEC 60079 group standards.
- Maintain obsolescence lists of all electrical, instrumentation and ICSS systems and manage service/spare parts or in extreme cases upgrades when nearing Endo Life.
- Issuance of Safety Alerts and Technical Notes on recent significant equipment or system failures.
- Maintain the timeliness and accuracy of the data that feeds into the management dashboards.
Audit Operated Assets:
- Conduct audits to assess E&I equipment integrity and maintenance and inspection effectiveness; and the extent of implementation of corrective action plans associated with any deficiencies identified.
- To identify opportunities to improve maintenance and inspection efficiency and/or effectiveness.
Provide E&I Technical Support to Operations:
- Interrogate CMMS job histories to ascertain the quality and effectiveness of E&I equipment repair, maintenance and inspection reporting.
- Lend in the exerpertise in supporitng the Operations team in Root Cause Analysis, preferably using the Kelvin TopSet methodology, of major or complicated equipment failures.
- Review assignedto Operational Risk Assessments (ORAs) through RiskPoynt for impaired barriers. Assist in E&I related critical CMMS Change Requests and Technical Bid Evaluations of major parts changeouts.
Propose Improvement Initiatives:
- Plan and execute fleetwide thermogrpahy campaigns on aging starter panels to identify bad/high resistance connections, unbalanced phase loads, deteriorating insulation, overloads, corrosion, harmonic imbalance and other possible causes.
- Perform the Return on Investment (ROI) study of upgrading existing outdated equipment; such as the fluorescent light fittings with modern LED retrofits.
- In advance contigency plannig for the unlikely event of a failure of a major equipment or system effecting daily production levels.
Requirements:
Travel Required:
Educational Qualifications/ Professional Certifications:
- A recognized degree or equivalent professional qualification in engineering, preferably in Electrical Power and a CEng registration.
Experience:
- A minimum of 17 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry with a mix of technical and manegerial roles.
Technical Competencies:
- Hazardous Area CompEx (Ex01 Ex04) Certification.
- High and Low Voltage (HVLV) Certification.
- Level 1 Infrared Certification.
- Able to write procedures, safety rules, scopes of work, ispection reports and audit reports.
Leadership Competencies:
- Able to lead a team of engineers delivering results by setting clear goals, fostering a collaborative environment, and providing guidance and support
