Senior HR Manager
Location: Pasir Panjang, Singapore
Industry: Industrial Automation / High-Tech
Employment Type: Full-time
The Opportunity
We are partnering with a well-established global technology company that provides advanced automation and machine vision solutions to manufacturing and distribution customers worldwide.
As the business continues to strengthen its commercial organization across Asia, we are looking for an experienced Senior HR Manager / Senior HR Business Partner to support the regional Sales organization.
This is a senior, highly visible HR leadership role working closely with Asia Sales leadership. You will operate as an integral member of the leadership team, shaping both business and people decisions while translating commercial priorities into effective talent, organizational, and workforce strategies.
The successful candidate will bring strong business acumen, executive presence, and the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders constructively. This is not a purely advisory HR role — you will be expected to form an independent point of view, influence decisions, and remain hands-on when required.
You will also lead and develop a team of three HR Business Partners.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnership & Business Alignment
- Partner closely with senior Sales leaders across Asia as a trusted strategic advisor, aligning people strategies with revenue targets, commercial priorities, and market expansion plans.
- Influence senior leadership decisions relating to organizational design, team structure, territory alignment, workforce planning, and broader organizational effectiveness.
- Translate business strategy into practical workforce and talent plans, proactively identifying capability gaps, organizational risks, and future talent requirements.
- Provide credible and direct coaching to senior leaders on leadership effectiveness, team dynamics, change management, and the organizational impact of leadership decisions and behaviours.
- Use workforce analytics and business data to challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and support effective headcount and productivity decisions.
Talent Management & Performance
- Lead talent reviews, succession planning, and high-potential development for business-critical sales and leadership positions.
- Identify capability gaps and strengthen leadership pipelines across the regional Sales organization.
- Influence leaders to make differentiated talent decisions and take greater ownership of employee development.
- Partner with leaders on performance management, including goal setting, calibration, performance improvement, and corrective action.
- Coach managers to address performance concerns directly, consistently, and effectively.
- Analyse engagement and retention data to identify risks among key and high-performing employees and translate insights into measurable action plans.
Employee Relations
- Manage complex employee relations matters with sound judgment, balancing business requirements with fair and consistent HR practices.
- Act as the escalation point for sensitive employee relations, performance, and organizational matters.
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment legislation, internal policies, and HR practices across relevant Asian markets.
Cross-Functional HR Collaboration
- Partner closely with Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Total Rewards, and other HR functions to develop integrated solutions aligned with business priorities.
- Move beyond request-driven HR support by proactively identifying organizational needs and recommending appropriate interventions.
- Use data and analytics to assess HR effectiveness, anticipate future workforce requirements, and influence business decisions.
Team Leadership & HRBP Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of three HR Business Partners, setting clear priorities, expectations, and success measures.
- Strengthen the team's consulting capability, commercial understanding, data fluency, coaching skills, and strategic HR mindset.
- Develop stronger executive presence, stakeholder influencing, and constructive-challenge capability within the HRBP team.
- Support the team's continued evolution from transactional HR support toward strategic business partnership.
- Serve as a quality gate and escalation point for complex HR and organizational matters.
Requirements
- 12+ years of progressive HR experience, with significant experience operating as an HR Business Partner.
- Strong track record supporting Sales or commercial organizations across Asia.
- Demonstrated experience partnering directly with senior business or Sales leaders in a strategic HR capacity.
- Proven ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders, influence decisions, constructively challenge leadership thinking, and drive action.
- Strong commercial and business acumen, with a good understanding of how Sales organizations operate.
- Exposure to areas such as direct sales, channel sales, B2B technology, industrial technology, or high-tech commercial environments would be highly relevant.
- Ability to connect organizational and people decisions with broader commercial and business outcomes.
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on operational levels.
- Previous people-management experience, ideally managing or developing HRBP professionals.
- Experience working within international or multinational organizations is required.
- Experience within a U.S.-headquartered global organization would be advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification required.
What Makes This Role Interesting
This opportunity would suit an established HR leader who wants to move beyond traditional HR support and operate as a genuine business partner to senior commercial leadership.
You will have the opportunity to influence organizational structure, leadership capability, talent decisions, workforce strategy, and the broader effectiveness of a regional Sales organization while developing the next level of HRBP capability within the team.
All applications will be treated with strictest confidence. We regret to inform you that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
