About the Opportunity

We are partnering with an established organisation seeking a Technology Risk & AI Governance Manager to strengthen its technology risk framework, with a particular focus on the responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

This role combines technology risk assessments, AI governance, regulatory awareness and stakeholder management. You will work closely with business and technology teams to identify emerging risks, establish practical controls and support innovation within a well-governed environment.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Risk Management

• Lead end-to-end technology risk assessments, evaluating risks, control effectiveness and appropriate mitigation measures.
• Develop and enhance technology risk frameworks, policies, assessment methodologies and governance processes.
• Advise business and technology stakeholders on technology risks, compliance requirements and control improvements.

AI Governance & Emerging Technology

• Assess risks associated with AI, Generative AI (GenAI), Machine Learning (ML) and emerging technologies.
• Review AI-enabled solutions, covering data privacy, security, model limitations, transparency, human oversight and third-party risks.
• Support the implementation of AI governance frameworks, translating responsible AI principles and regulatory expectations into practical policies and controls.
• Establish governance processes for AI risk reviews, approvals, documentation, escalation and ongoing monitoring.

Risk Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Prepare risk reports, dashboards and management updates for senior stakeholders.
• Identify emerging risk trends, control gaps and opportunities to strengthen governance practices.
• Improve and automate risk assessment and reporting processes where appropriate.
• Support broader technology risk initiatives and regulatory reviews.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Technology Risk, AI Governance, IT Risk, Information Security, Technology Audit, Regulatory Compliance or related disciplines.
• Practical understanding of AI and Generative AI, including how solutions are developed, deployed and used, alongside their associated risks and limitations.
• Familiarity with responsible AI principles, AI governance frameworks, recognised standards and regulatory developments.
• Experience conducting technology risk assessments, evaluating controls and recommending mitigation strategies.
• Ability to translate technical risks and governance requirements into actionable business controls.
• Strong stakeholder management, analytical, project management and communication skills.
• Comfortable engaging senior stakeholders and managing multiple priorities independently.

Advantageous Qualifications & Experience

• Hands-on experience implementing AI governance processes, policies or risk assessment frameworks.
• Exposure to AI-enabled applications, third-party AI solutions or responsible AI initiatives.
• Relevant certifications in AI governance, technology risk or information security.

Note: Deep AI engineering or programming expertise is not required.
